Yeah for Grey's...and Survivor

Thursday night is the best TV night, hands down...but it's a bit frustrating. They cram all these good shows in 1 night so there's 6 other night's of crap. Survivor and Grey's are my favs...but I'm sure I could easily get into some of the other shows. The guys at work watch The Office. I've 1/2 watched Ugly Betty and KNOW I'd love to watch is full time...but it's on when Survivor's on. And CSI has been my fav forever...I did manage to catch the tail end of it when it was on at 8 p.m. Think I'll adjust my schedule to watch it then (and make sure I get the lunches, gym bag, etc. packed ahead of time).

So, aside from TV, I didn't do a hell of a lot. I was really tired from E being up the night before. I did manage to get organized enough to pack my lunch and gym bag...which I've been leaving till the morning...which I really shouldn't do since MWF are my time crunch days. I'm really looking forward to the wknd. No plans but I'm sure we'll be up to something...errands, groceries, and some fun stuff I'm sure. Next wknd we'll be in CB for Thanksgiving then Halloween is coming soon. I have a few little crafty projects in mind so a headstart on them would be a great idea.

Well, better get going. Hope you've got your flood pants and rubbers on today. It looks like the "cats & dogs" are taking over.

Soooooo tired!

At 4:30 yesterday afternoon, I got a last minute invite to a work event. We went to the Beer Market for apps and drinks, then to DRUM at Pier 20. It was amazing!!! My hands were sore from clapping...and there were several times I wished they had a dance floor. It was so, so entertaining, moving, awe-inspiring. It's $45/adult but I highly recommend seeing it! So, by the time I got home, caught up on E's news, it was nearly midnight. I've already had a double latte and I'm still tired! And of course tonight's a big TV night!! Survivor and the season premiere of Grey's...my word, what'll I do???

DH's working OT tonight and I'm not sure about MIL...I think she'll be home. I hope so! Fortunately there are left overs from last night so we won't have to do much to prepare supper. I may try to sneak in a nap before the shows...although I'm afraid I'll be out for the night. :) Well I gotta get some stuff done.

TTFN!

Mama-Daughter night

Well with DH & MIL out, I decided E & I would have a little fun trip into Bayers Lake. Everytime we leave daycare, just about, she asks to go "that way" (right) but you have to go left to get home. So, yesterday she was extremely giddy to go right into BL with the promise of McD's (which she calls Old MacDonalds). The deal was we would shop for boots afterward. Once she realized McD's was the reward for boot shopping, she quickly agreed. She really tried hard to keep her cool. When she got upset, I just reminded her she got a treat. She kept saying "Sorry mom...I'm listening." So sweet! So we bought her winter boots, hat & mitts...the only things she needed for winter.

On the way out of the parking lot to go home, she started passing me her blankie and bear. I wasn't getting why till she she started talking about getting her "treat". She saw the Timmie's sign so she thought she was getting timbits. Since she was so good and tried so hard, and I had a few bucks in my purse, through the drive-thru we went. She eats so well, I don't mind giving her treats now and then. Besides, a couple of timbits makes her squeel with delight...who wouldn't want to be the hero in that situation. And the treats continued at home. I finally found more "paint with water" colouring books at the Bargain Shop. I bought 6 or so...some for now, some for Christmas. She just loves them...and so do I! No paint required...just add water.

Well, nothing's on the agenda tonight...except the trim...which reminds me, I'll have to remind DH to bring home the darn saw. We're gettin' there. Guess I better get going. Don't forget your sunscreen today. 29 degrees on Sept 26th...who would've thunk it!!!

Not quite done.

We finally got the picture frame, mirror and letters on the wall. But DH forgot to bring home the saw to cut the trim so it will have to wait. He and MIL are working OT tonight. Guess E & I will have a girly night...which is fun, but I'm tired already. DH had a terrible headache last night and wasn't much help with her. And my MIL, who is a great help, was working OT. But hey, I'm the mama and it's my job, right? Guess I'm spoiled with all the help I get. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't pregnant and E's being very challenging lately.

I know if must be really hard for her...getting a new room, hearing all the talk about the baby, and being in those "terrible 2s." I definitely believe her personality has a lot to do with it too. She is not patient...never has been. Especially as a baby. I dreading breast feeding because she would take a few sucks and start wailing because it wasn't coming out fast enough for her. She didn't understand that she had to do the work. And now when she wants something, she freaks when you don't help her right that instant. She goes from 0 to 10 in 2 seconds flat. I keep reminding her that she has to be patient and use her words (to tell me what's the problem). But she still doesn't get it.

It's so ironic cause when she's good, she's amazing! Polite, helpful, cute, sweet, so huggable and kissable, a real joy to be around. But it's rare that I get this now. I haven't had a full day of this in ages...just glimpses of it thoughtout the day when she's not in a tantrum. I suppose it'll only get worse with the baby. I can't have her scretching at the top of her lungs when the baby's trying to sleep. And I don't want her to resent the baby every time I send her to her room for bad behaviour. DH says she has to understand that behaviour is unacceptable and there are consequences. I guess all any parent can do is their best. And when in doubt, we'll have another ginny pig to try not to mess up. :)

Happy Monday!

Feeling good today although had a rough start this a.m....sort of. Got a great headstart and made pancakes for bkft (which are usually reserved for wknds only but I was up early enough). Head to the car and dropped 1/2 of E's bkft on the ground...poo! Then DH ran out with my cell phone. The drive in was terrible but I did manage to get a full workout in but was late for work. Ooops!

We had a nice wknd. DH & I got up early Sat and ran errands. FINALLY got E's trim which is painted and ready to be put in (DH's borrowing a saw from work). That's the last of it...besides putting up pic frame and mirror. Pictures will be posted on FB tonight or tomorrow night...likely. I'm really pleased with how girly it looks. :)

Speaking of FINALLY, Shay and I FINALLY got together after 2 months of no face-to-face. Couldn't believe it was that long. We had such a nice visit...it helped ignoring the clock since I didn't get home till 3 a.m. :) I was very tempted to stay over but knew I wouldn't sleep without my meds...which were a huge help by the time I hit the pillow. Anyway, I'm looking VERY forward to more great visits now that summer's over and we're settling into fall.

Well, hope y'all are enjoying the sunshine and cool temps.

Boy, it's been one of those weeks!

Sorry I've been such a deliqent...at least it's not just me. :) We had a really busy week at work and then I had errands that kept me away from blogging. I'm happy to report that the little mice are playing today while the big cheese is out. :) He's sneaky!!! Today's his b-day and he told us last minute yesterday that he wouldn't be in. Frigger.

So, in other news, not much is going on. Survivor China last night...so glad to see it on again. I think this will be a good one!! Not much on for the weekend. I'd like to wrap up the loose ends in E's room. Gotta get groceries, tidy up, etc. DEFINITELY want to get together with Shay. It's been WAY too long. Oh, and I have 1 week to rent Season 3 of Grey's before the premier next Thursday. Oh my, not sure how I'll swing that!!!

Well, guess I'll get going. Hope Friday is good to ya!

Relaxed & Refreshed

I had a really nice wknd. Friday night we vegged. Saturday day we did chores around the house. Got outside a little bit before it started to rain. In the afternoon, DH & I did errands and groceries. He dropped me off at Hil & Hayley's for a girl's night/sleepover. We enjoyed some pizza and munchie, played a game, did facials and our nails. I loved how low key it was just to chat and veg out with the gals. Although I am a true mommy...I missed my girl in the morning and couldn't wait to get home! I got DH to bring E when he got us around noon. We all went over to our place for a fabulous turkey dinner. H & H LOVE coming over when MIL cooks...she's amazing! The gals went home around 4 and E & I hung out. She missed her nap so I entertained...okay, I put Toopy & Bino on and sort of slept on the couch. :) I was really tired and had a headache...still have it. Tylenol sucks! I think my body thinks it that time of the month cause I usually get a lasting headache for a day and then nothing for another month. Weird.

Anyway, today DH & I have an errand to run and are going to a movie tonight. Nice to get out for little dates. I don't expect we'll be getting too many of these next year...not with 2 kiddies. :) Maybe when they're older. Oh, I didn't get to post Friday since it was so busy. Went to the Sally Ann 1/2 price sale and got some generic sleepers/onesies for the baby. Myrn at work says she wants to have a shower for me. I know people usually don't do that but it would be nice just to get together. We're thinking after the baby's born. The only things I need are clothes from newborn to about 12 or 18 months. I have everything for both boy and girl beyond that (thanks Shay). I also could use towels, face cloths and of course diapers. Anyway, that's all for my exciting life today. Have a happy Monday!

Full belly...

...and not just because of the baby. I just ate a HUGE lunch...yeah, I know, it's late. Anyway, I had a chiropractic appointment (God I do love that man!) . He just did regular maintenance (which is more impt now than ever with the baby) and worked on my shoulder...giving me a bit of grief. I feel so much better when I leave. I gotta do more stuff like that. Like using my bubbly tub. I got in last night...so relaxing...but left the jets off since E's new bedroom shares a wall with our tub. Anyway, my whole point was I craving "bought out" lunch so I waited till after my appt. (which was after 1) to pick up a bite. There's this great place next to work (Tarek's Cafe) and I'm tellin' ya, if you like pitas, medeteranian food and garlic, you must go!!! Everything is so fresh and deliscious. Fortunately my co-workers go often and don't mind the garlic smell. :)

Well, better get going. Tonight I'm going to actually try to sort some clothes. I was going to go through baby stuff last night but felt so tired. Then this a.m. when I dressed E, I realized I NEED to go through some bags of stuff for her. Size 2 ain't cutting it anymore. She's growing fast!!! Anyhoo, hope you're enjoying the warm sun and cool temps...I LOVE FALL!!

Big Girl Room, continued

Well, my big girl slept in her big girl room last night without incident. She absolutely loved going to bed and was pleasant as all get out this morning. Slowly we're getting it finished. All her clothes and necessities are in there. Just have to do the decorative touch ups. I was worried she wouldn't be happy giving up her old room. I think making a big deal over the new room was what helped. So, so, so glad it's working out. By the wknd I'll start preping her old room for the baby. hehehehe I can't wait to go through the bags of clothes and start washing and sorting. Very exciting! Well, I'll keep it short today. Hope everyone's doing well...wherever you are!

"Thank you mama"

She must have said it 3 or 4 times. Slowly DH & I have been showing E the progress of her big girl room. On Saturday, DH put the last coat of pink on the window and installed the light fixture. Sunday we put up the curtains and set up the bed with bedding. When she came in, she was thrilled and wanted to sleep in there right away. But our little doll was abliging to let her cousin Ben sleep in it for the night. My aunt Sharon and cousin Ben, along with uncle Kelson came up for the night. There's still a bit to do on the room. DH thought the head board was lost but we found it yesterday...so he needs to paint both the head and foot boards (and a few other little things). I didn't put the flower wallies up yet, or the cute Dollarama pink princess mirror, and other nicnacs. Plus we have to load her toys, clothes, etc., in there. Eventually, we'll buy/paint baseboard trim too.

In other news, my pregnancy is moving right along. I'm in my 3rd trimester and baby & I are doing great. 2 1/2 months to go! I'm getting E more used to the idea of the baby. I asked if it was okay to put the crib in her "old" room, and she said yes. We bought a few big sister books which she really likes. Her behaviour has GREATLY improved since our visit to CB. I think she'll get along fine now. I'm more confirmed about sending her to daycare part-time during Mat leave. Not sure if we can afford it but we certainly can for Dec. It's so good for her. After getting back from CB, she was looking very forward to being there. I looked into 1 private sitter that I know from CB (living nearby me) but she'll be full up when I'm going back to work. She's looking around for me to see if she knows anyone who has openings. I'll have to see how things go before I can commit to sending both to daycare next year. If I could pay off my student loan, we could do it. Here's hoping.

Well, best be going. Hope all is well.
