A much needed break

The last 2 nights have been wonderful with DH...he's been doing the 11 o'clock feed with L. I have been up both nights however with E. Still, it's short and back to bed. Today DH's out running errands. Dropping off shirts, etc. at his old work and taking a drug test at his new work. He'll pass that with flying colours. :) He's also paying his speeding ticket, returning a part for the van, and he dropped E to daycare this a.m. So far, the morning's been good. L was up rather early...5:30...but was very pleasant. I believe I hear her now so won't stay on long. Besides I have to finish the marathon packing experience...wow...it's a lot harder with 2 kids...esp. when one's an infant. And tonight we're going to an easter party so I have to actually shower today. :) DH will be home this afternoon so maybe I'll sneak in a nap too. MMM...uninterrupted nap!!!

Breezy kinda day

It seems that way although I am tired. E woke in the middle of the night to pee. I either have to teach her to go by herself (not fond of that idea) or stop giving her milk at bedtime. I prefer the latter since I know that milk on her teeth isn't good but it will be hard for the first while. Anyway, the girls were up around 6...not bad. E was very pleasant and stayed up 2 hours vs. 1. Just before she got up, E & I made oatmeal choc chip cookies to take to S&R's party tomorrow night. Just a little get together for the kids for Easter (post-poned from Sat). Got L up, fed her and gave her a bath. It's so fun with E helping out. She fills up her teapot and pours the water over her...so fun! And L loves the bath so she's real easy to please.

E & I also made little "Happy Easter" cards for the cookie baggies for daycare. Easier and cheaper to give cookies than spend $$ on little gift bags. Plus, homemade and hand decorated is much cuter and funner. :) In between I've been packing for our trip to CB. 2 weeks with 2 kids...lots to pack. Clothes, toiletries, etc. is mostly done for the 3 of us. Got the Easter stuff packed. Just need to get toys for both girls and E's airbed. We're all traveling together which will be really nice help-wise. DH has a chair to bring to his aunt but opted to bring it another time so we can all travel together.

Oh, L's crying but one quick exciting note before I go. DH went for an interview with the Shipyard. He got the job!!! He'll be doing different duties...sand blasting/painting ships. There is some shift work involved but we'll deal. Plus, it's a $7/hr raise!!!!!! Mama is gettin' a new pair of everything. LOL!! Well, better run. Hope you're having a great day!

The Day After

Everyone's had "one of those days". Mine was yesterday...well, started out to be that way. Woke to a wimpering 2 year old at 3 a.m....Daddy put her to be without a diaper on. You guessed it. Had to strip the bed, new sheets, new blanket, get her washed down. What a mess. Thank goodness it was a #1. :) Well, at that exact moment, my baby girl starts crying for a bottle. Oh brother! Had to wake DH. I was getting him to wash down E but she freaked and wanted mama. So, he fed L...figured she didn't care who was giving her a baba, as long as she got it pronto. Went back to bed thinking the 2 would sleep in...not so. 6 a.m. I'm up with the 2 of them, tired as can be. First things first, get my Jo on the go. Poor a nice tall hot cup and tipped the damn thing over. And b/c I'm frugal, I made just enough so I had to start it all over again. Fortunately the rest of the day faired out better.

The 2 gals are still sick. I thought E might be fighting off an ear infection but she seemed alright today. Yesterday her temp was 99.3 then 99.1. This morning she was 96.something...much better so off to daycare...and she was happy about it. I was chatting with the gals in the baby room (where they all gather in the a.m.) and she said, "bye bye mama"...as if to say, 'you can go now.' So funny! Anyway, we didn't do much yesterday...made cookies for daycare as gifts for easter. We'll make little egg easter cards tomorrow. Oh, Jen Allen came to visit for lunch yesterday. Very good to see her and catch up. Hmmm...L is still sick with a cold...sneezing lots. We're going for her follow up appt with Plastics today. Oh, also, got E's appt for eye surgery. She'll be going next month. Fortunately, MIL has that day off so she can watch L. I'm getting DH to get it off too so he can come with E & I. Plus, he wants to be there for support.

Well, that's about all my news. Hope everyone had a great Patty's Day. We had a little Irish Cream to celebrate here at home and a yummy supper of fish cakes. :) BTW, I'm heading to CB this Friday for 2 wks so you won't hear from me after Thursday. I'll try to pop in tomorrow but Thurs for sure. Take care!!

TGIF!

Just a quickie...heading to a playdate. Had a great night last night at the movies with Myrna (JUNO). Awesome movie...lots of LOL parts. Heading to Bean Sprout Cafe with the girls to meet Megan and her kiddies Lauren and Logan. L just woke up so gotta run. Have a good one!

Feeling semi-sane again. :)

Morning y'all! Feeling much better after my venting yesterday. Or maybe it was the sturn note that got the point across. No matter. I was heard and feel much better. And the kids slept through the night...sort of. I went to bed at 10 and DH stayed up to feed L. He didn't know my routine and when he put her down, she flipped out...which woke me up. I got her settled and in bed...only to have E wake up. Got her settled and in bed and we all slept the rest of the night.

Anyway, I'd love to stay and chat but L just woke up...7:50!!!! Have a great day and enjoy the snow!

Moody Mama

It's been a week, let me tell ya. No naps, up late, you know the drill. Well, last night was better. Both girls slept in till 6:30 and 7. But still I'm catching up so was really tired. I dozed on the couch after L went down again this a.m. and E was watching Treehouse. But when afternoon nap time came, L was hard to settle. I finally got her down and E was making a big stink about having a nap. She kept talking/calling me for an hour, took her pull up off, finally I gave up and turned on the computer. Both are quiet and prefer that I not sleep when they do. I'm convinced it's a conspiracy!!!

So, I'm in the moodiest of moods and HATE being the crabby mama. It's hard to shut it off though. All I wanted was rest and "someone" is telling you you don't deserve one. So frustrating!!!! I just need to get out of here big time. I'm heading out as soon as someone gets home. No messin' around tonight. No staying to make sure everyone's okay. I'm tired of "caring" for others without any regard for me!!! DH has been so selfish lately. He admits it...but it's not stopping him from continuing the trend. Tonight, I want the computer off, me in bed and DH up feeding L. ARGHHHHHH!! *Sigh* All better now. Thanks for the vent.

Manic Monday

Yeah, I know it's Tuesday but yesterday was so nuts, I have to share. Oh, wknd was good...overnighter with H&H was relaxing and lazy...loved it! Rest of wknd was restful...except for the girls waking at night...ugh!

Anyway, yesterday was a freaky day for sure. L is usually very good to sleep during the day. She woke very early...3:40...UGH! I had her back in bed by 5 and she slept till 8. Fed her and played with her and E. After that, I could barely get her down for an hour for the rest of the day. And she was no better with MIL at night. Anyway, she finally went to bed around 8:30. I woke her at 11 for her feed. Just when I was about to sit her up for a burp...she spit up all over herself. So bad that I had to strip her off, give her a sponge bath, redress and feed her again. Made for a long, tiring evening...esp. since I didn't get a nap during the day. Fortunately, she (and all of us) slept in this morning. Caused for a bit of a rush getting E & DH out the door but they made it none the less.

If that wasn't freaky enough, I was having a very bad day. In December after I gave birth, I had a strange attack one day. Like a cramping pain just below my boobs that went all the way around to my back. Well, in the midst of yesterday's ciaos of L having a gas attack, and E "singing" (screaming), I had another one of these attacks...2 actually. I called DH thinking he may have to come home. I worried it might be a heart attack although it didn't feel like it was up that high. I was scared I'd pass out so I had DH on the phone in case. The first attack lasted 5 or more mins...the second much shorter. After the second, I made an appt. with the on call dr. last night. He thinks it's my galblatter. He put a referal in for me to have an ultrasound. Scary stuff...but not a heart attack...phew!

I called mom cause she had her gb out when she was 37. She said that's what it sounded like to her. As far as she knows, it's common to happen after child birth because the organs and squished so much. I'm a fairly good eater...not a lot of fried foods...just an over eater of good stuff and sweets. But I'm sure years of abuse doesn't help the situation. I know the procedure for removing your gb is much better than when mom had hers out. She has a 5" scar on her stomach. My friend from home had hers out probably 5 years ago (Lynne) and she has 2 little puncture marks where they sent 2 long instruments in (like they use in gastric bypass). If I have to get it done, that's what I hope they'll be able to use. I should get the ultrasound in a month he said so it's a waiting game till then. Just reallly glad I have a good idea of what it was and the mystery is gone.

Well, L is down for her first nap so I should rest too...just in case she doesn't later. Oh, and the oil maintenance guy is coming...and you know he'll be here during naptime...it's always the way. Shay: hope you're enjoying the sunshine!!! Bring some of that warm weather back with you!! And some rum for me!!! I'll pay ya back. :)

Hip hip hurray!

Love, love, LOVE Fridays. Tonight will be an especially great night. I'm staying overnight at H&H's. No kiddies to wake me up through the night and in the morning...unless H&H's cats are early risers. :) Not sure what we're going to do but honestly, I don't care. I'm just happy for the getaway.

I have both girlies today. L was up early and is back to bed...likely to get up soon. As soon as I put L back down E was up...go figure. She's helping me around the house...what a great helper. :) She's such a doll when she wants to be. hehehe

Anyway, I better get going. Don't want to me neglectful mama today. :) Have a great wknd!!

Not sure how I managed to change my pic. I've been trying for ages. Guess I've been going at it the wrong way. Hurray for new pics! Though I'd prefer to touch it up and get rid of the extra chin. :) Oh well, whatever.

I'm home today chillin' with L. She woke up happy as a lark till Mama started pickin' at her runny nose and crusty eyes. She gets over it quick though. She still has her cough but is doing fine. She slept through (from midnight till 7) but of course E was up at 6. I woke to hearing her screaming "Help Me, Help Me!" She was panicing at the potty. MIL was awake sitting on her bed when I rushed down the hall to help. Afterwards she said she was just about to get her. I just wanted E to stop screaming for fear she'd wake up L. Anyway, not a great start to the morning. Then got out to see our recycling and garbage torn apart. Garbage Collection didn't come yesterday due to weather. Seems every garbage day we have "weather." Grr.

Anyway, nothing planned for today. DH has the van so I'm happy stranded. Maybe L & I will go for a walk. She's heading down for a nap real soon so it'll have to wait till later. Well, better go. She's starting to fuss. TTFN!

Sucky spring

I must say, I'm not fussy about this part of spring weather. The icy trees, icy roads, fall on your ass kind of weather. Our butts are firmly planted indoors today. Good thing cause L is still sick and taking extra long naps. She missed a feeding last night cause she slept right through. Poor doll. Still, she's got her smiley face on. Both gals are home with me today. It's been an uneventful morning. E was up at 4 crying over her dolly and blankie being on the floor. Since L missed her 6-7 p.m. feed, I got her up at 10 p.m. so she woke at 5 a.m. instead of 6. Fortunately, I laid on the couch for about an hour while E played this a.m. and got a 2 hour nap this afternoon. I'll get to bed early tonight too. I've been trying to go to sleep around 9 and getting DH to wake me at 11 for L's feed. Then back to bed by 12 or 1. Not the best system but good for now.

Anyway, not much else to report. I was going to scrapbook at Beth's tonight...decided to try her workshops again...but the weather is sucky so I cancelled. May get to the day long event in April...excited about that. Hope the easter bunny will bring me a scrapping table. :) And what's with all these storms on Wednesdays???? It's my garbage/recycling day and it keeps getting interrupted. It's 3:30 and my garbage is still at the end of the drive. They'll likely have to get it tomorrow I guess. What a pain...esp since the crows picked on bag apart the other day (DH put it on the front step instead of in the garage). That's what happens with everyone in the family doesn't recycle...grrr. Well, E's watching Rat-a-tooie (sp???) so I better go and join her. TTFN!

Sick chickens

Not sure about you but I'm sick & tired of being sick & tired. L now has my cough/cold and it's terrible! She's barking and snotting but still manages to smile...poor dolly. I'm definitely on the mend...more of a cold/sinus problem now. Thankfully! E has a bit of it too but more of a cold. DH & MIL seem alright but have somewhat of a cold.

Didn't do a whole lot yesterday. E & I went for a walk to get the mail. Then went to work out at Curves and ran an errand for MIL. Had a bath when I got home. Just pretty much vegged in front of the TV between playing with E or tending to L. Today I have nothing on the agenda. With L so sick, I thought I'd best stay put and let her get as much rest as she can. I may lie down myself although not sure if she'll actually rest long...she's already woken up once in the last 1/2 hour. Poor baby...it's hard to sleep with that cough and cold. Well, hope you had a good Monday. Better hunker down cause we're getting more rain/snow in the overnight...whoo hoo another storm. Maybe we'll all get snowed in tomorrow. :)

Long wknd

LOVE long wknds. MIL took a few Mondays off to give herself some long wknds...but it's more of a break for me than her. :) She got up with the gals so I got to sleep in today...hurray! I had a rough wknd so I needed the rest. Friday & Saturday nights, E woke up at 3 in the a.m. and of course I was the one who got up. DH is USELESS in the middle of the night, which caused me to be really grumpy with him over the wknd. We seem to be unintentially avoiding each other for the passed week or so. Anyway, we did talk last night and I found out what was going on. He got a speeding ticket and didn't get around to telling me. (It ended up that the ticket was undeserved, I think. Hard to avoid a ticket is the cop is hiding at a bottom of a hill. Pretty sheepish if you ask me.) It's really all about spending his time...and where he spends it. If 80% of your spare time is spent on video games and the other 20% on chores, kids, eating, sleeping and none on each other, it's a problem. So, we're on the same page again and are happy for the moment. ;)

On Sat, E & I went to the Discovery Centre with 5 other Spring Beans mommies. It was a lot of fun but E was in a foul mood because of waking through the night. There's a lot to do at the DC and I'd like to go another day or send E with Daddy. He would love it. Sat night we got together at S&R's with J&R and just shot the shit. Poor Jason & Ray got to hear about our kiddy troubles all night. Not sure if they'll ever have any. :) Last night we just vegged. Well, I better go. L's hungry and I'm not sure what E's up to. Later!
