For those who like to ROCK...we salute Q104!!!

Happy 25th Anniversary to the Home of Rock N Roll, Q104 FM Halifax! DH & I are going to the 25th Anniversary concert...featuring Joel Plaskett, Matt Mays & El Torpedo, 54 40, among others. The big upset of the day is the cancellation of April Wine. One of the guys passed out and cut open his head. Too bad because they are being inducted into the East Coast Rock Hall of Fame. I'm sure we'll rock on without them. :)

I'm looking forward to another night out with hubby. We really enjoyed Makayla's stepdancing last night at the Celtic Concert. I can't believe she's been dancing for just 10 weeks!! She's a natural...and knowing how to Irish dance helps too. :) So cute...and grown up!!! Time flies!

So I've got a full wknd lined up: concert tonight, decorating shortbreads tomorrow day, out with SIL tomorrow night for dinner & movie (4 Christmases), gotta squeeze church & choir practice in there, cookie exchange Sunday, then back at it Monday...boo hoo!

For the love of NOG!

It's sweet, it's creamy, and no one quite knows what it's really made of. How can you not love Egg nog?? One time just a delicious Christmas season treat. Now it's added to make the ordinary extraordinary! What prompted me to profess my love for the stuff is the egg nog latte I'm sipping...so delish! I recommend a cinnamon topping vs. nutmeg, which I find a bit strong.

In other sweet news, the ratings came out for our stations today. I don't have numbers but Chum's new station, 101.3 The Bounce did really well!! And "my" station, 96.5 KOOL FM did well too (I write the promos for this station, helping add to it's flavah!) So everyone's happy and bouncing around. I'm just totally psyched that KOOL has a solid position now. It's about time! Hey, just a little...okay, huge...plug. If you want to check it out yourself, visit www.965koolfm.ca.

"Warming up"

It's a bit less chilly out there today, which is a nice change. Maybe we'll get rid of the mountains of snow. And hey Chris, we may have snow but I know where my trailer is parked at all times...no worries of that going for an unscheduled flight...so MAH! :) Having a productive day...tired as usual. The Dancing with the Stars finale was last night. I swear I don't know how I get sucked into these damn shows! Anyway, Brooke Burke won...no surprise there. Happy for the big teddy bear twinkle toes football guy, Warren, who did so well. I love a big guy with big moves. hehee

DH got on the first coat of vanilla in the bedroom last night...so pretty!!! It makes the blue paint around the bubbly tub stand out. Hopefully he'll get the 2nd coat on today...he's home napping. Up too late playing online. Frigger! I can't beat him up too much though. He got up with us and look L to her dr. appt. She got the 2nd 1/2 of her flu shot. Her eyes cleared up so no more meds for her...hurray! DH also has to get some groceries for me. Need more stuff to make the cookies, and I have to do them tonight. Tomorrow night's Makayla's concert and Friday night we have tickets to another concert. Then Sat afternoon and evening I'm out with my SIL (shopping/dinner/movie), and Sunday's the cookie exchange. Pretty jam packed week/wknd.

Well, gotta run. I'm on my lunch break and have 20 mins of browsing before I get back at it.

Quick & dirty

Just got a sec before I hit the road. Not much going on. Busy at work...2 guys are out (of 6). Stayed in last night and made shortbreads for the cookie exchange. 3 doz down, 3 1/2 to go. Oh, exciting news, went shopping!! Got a new top for my Christmas party. Flashy, pinky, and it looks good on me. Bonus! Well, that's about it. Gotta head home and maybe make more cookies...may be running out of supplies.

Laugh till ya cry

Thank goodness I forgot to put on mascara today. I think I laughed for an hour straight. Working on this promo for the station called Tinsel Theatre which involves naming classic movie clips. So I go on youtube and check out a few to put in the spot. Good Lord, what a riot. The prize for the contest is a Christmas tree to I put in a clip from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation...best Christmas movie of all time in my books. :) "A lotta sap. Looks good. Little full." ROFLMAO!!! I should have watched that movie over the wknd!

Our wknd was nice, quiet...nice and quiet. Friday I printed off the bulletin at the church. Thank goodness because we were snowed in on Sat. We didn't even make it to mass!!! Poor hubby shovelled for hours Sat & Sun. I did get out to the scrapping workshop Sun afternoon. And Sun evening, we took E to Madagascar 2...which was hilarious! That really was our wknd in a nutshell. This week is pretty easy. Lots of cookie baking for the exchange on Sunday. Thursday night we've got Makayla's concert...looking forward to it. But that's about it. Well, gonna head out. Hope y'all did okay in the storm.

Snowy, snowy night

So it's coming...sometime tonight. Just fine by me. I'll be home in my pjs, hopefully watching movies...if the power doesn't go out. :) Had a good day but I'm tired out from the week. L has pink eye. DH brought her in this a.m. to the dr., then to work for a visit. Poor doll. MIL's picking me up at 5 and we're going to Superstore to stock up on supplies. Tonight I do have to go out, weather pending. I'm meeting the gal who used to do the bulletin. She's teaching me how to print off copies at the church. Hopefully I can get it done tonight in case the weather keeps us home tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, I'm hoping the weather will be okay in the afternoon. I've been dying to see the 2nd Madagascar and want to take E. Again, all up in the air. It'll be a fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants wknd. Or a play by candlelight one. hehe Well, wishing you all a safe drive home and blessings over the wknd. Be careful!

A Day Behind

I swear, I'm way messed up this week. I keep thinking today is Wednesday...and Tuesday felt like Monday. Just weird. Good day to day. Got some errands done at lunch and worked on the bulletin. Still waiting on some info so I'll have to wrap it up tomorrow/Saturday. I got some good praise today from my boss. I'm loving the new PD I'm working with. He and my boss are pretty much cool with everything I write.

On the homefront, DH is priming today. I think he got 2 coats done on half of the room. Since our house is so small and we have nowhere to put anything, we're pushing all our stuff to one side, puttying, priming and painting, then moving it back and doing the other side. It takes longer but at least it gets done (and doesn't overwork hubby). :) The wknd is coming and we're getting booked up. Sat day, DH is taking the girls on a playdate. Not sure if I'm going downtown to meet Jen Saturday night...depends on the weather. Sunday I'm scrapping from noon till 5. Somewhere in there I want to start baking for the cookie exchange I'm involved in. 80+ cookies...yikes! Should be fun.

Well, gotta run. Hope everyone got home safe last night. Thank heaven for snow tires!

The second Monday this week

Boy, it felt like it. I was productive but busy...and lots of re-dos. Plus, I took one something new...which is fun and exciting. Okay, now I sound totally lame! I'm writing the Bulletin for our pastoral unit. Hey, it's new to me so it's kinda fun having control over it. The gal who used to do it really has too much on her plate but the priest talked her into it...then DH volun-told me for the job. Really, I don't mind b/c it doesn't take up too much time. Anyway, that's my excitement for the day.

Nothing going on tonight. Me, the bed, and TV. Maybe folding depending on what laundry hubby got done. Well, I gotta run. TTFN!

Back at my post

Ugh...first day back is almost over. Thank goodness!!! I'm tired. Stayed up too late and was up twice with L...sort of. DH got up with her the 1st time and we both were up the 2nd time. Can't wait till all her teeth are in. Anyway, it's not that work was hard/bad/boring. I just liked healing at home on the couch. :) I managed to get through the day pretty well. Hubby helped me get the girls ready this a.m. and carried L to the car for me. I got one of the daycare teachers to get her out of the van so no lifting. Gotta wait 6 weeks though I did pick her up twice yesterday. I'm going to try not to for the next 5 weeks.

Had an awesome wknd!!! Hubby didn't get the ensuite finished Friday so he worked on that all day and finished painting before supper. Sat night we went out for our belated anniversary dinner. We wanted to go to Opa but didn't have a reservation so missed out on it. But we did go to Jamieson's Irish House (which is kind of nice since we honeymooned in Ireland). We got to reminise about our time in Ireland...all the sights and sounds...and how funny it was that getting that Irish feel was hard. There's more Irish tradition in Halifax (like at the Old Triangle) than what we found in Ireland. Weird. Anyway, afterward we went to Shay & Mark's for a LONG overdue visit. It was so nice to chill and chat.

Sunday a.m. we went to church with E. On the way home, stopped at the market and ran into Carrie from work who had her sweet baby boy, Mason. Soooo sweet and so happy for Carrie & Bob. Makes you want another one for 5 seconds. :) Went home and DH put the bathroom back together. I managed to clean both bathrooms and prep for our company. Doug & Sarah came over for supper. So nice to see them!! We had spagetti & meatballs (courtesy of MIL...delish) and Sarah brought a cake! So amazingly yummy...I think we all ate 2 pieces. hehehe So that's about it for me. Gonna pick up the gals and head home for supper. Soup...and more cake. hehehehe

I'm back from the bed!

Hello all my millions of fans! :) Yeah, whatever! Thanks for your patience...and love and support. All your well wishes were awesome! I'm happy to report the bandages are off...actually, it's still pretty gross looking, but healing. The passed 2 days, I've been out and about and planning another excursion today. It's hard staying in...and even harder trying not to do anything...so I am doing some stuff. DH has been a super huge gynormous help! In fact, right now he's priming our en suite and bubbly tub area...HURRAY!!! We're hoping to have it all painted and put back together tomorrow a.m. (We'll see.) Anyway, more about me. :)

I pretty much laid low in the beginning of the week. Thanks to Cindy's help, I got my meds under control. By Wed, DH & I went Christmas shopping. Went to Bulk Barn for C-mas cookie cutters and boxes, Costco for a few randoms and Walmart for kids gifts. I'm winding up the Christmas shopping which is awesome. Not much left to buy...which is great since we're living on 1 pay check & EI. If DH gets back to work before the year's out, we're getting the family a Wii!!!! I tried it at Myrna's and loved it!!!! If not, we'll just stick to the necessities: socks, undies, clothes, scrapping stuff (hehehe). We've had lean C-mases before so it's nothing we're not used to. We got the girls stuff and that's most impt. Oh, I also got everything wrapped! Like I said, I'm pretty bored.

Yesterday DH & I cleaned the house like mad!!! I swept, mopped, organized the toys in the livingroom and E's room, switched around L's room completely!!! Glad I moved her crib cause there was dried smelly milk on the floor. Daddy--no more bottles in L's crib! Whatelse. There are 2 dressers in the hallway (one for linens and one with MIL's clothes...yeah, her room is too cramped). I went through the papers on top both and threw out wasn't impt. I filed away my bills in the kitchen. Hmmm. DH cleared out the en suite, took the fixtures down, removed the trim and remaining wall paper (HATE wall paper), and "puttied" the holes in the en suite and tubby area. Oh, and I did 2 loads of laundry. So, it was a busy day.

Today I got the dishes unloaded/loaded. DH just finished priming. Then we're heading out to Bluecross to cash in our expenses, visiting a friend and her new baby, and getting groceries. Thank goodness for being productive. Well, I better run and get out of my jammies...wouldn't it be nice to wear them out in public? Maybe when we all have personal holograms devices, we can wear our jammies but look like we're dressed to the 9s. :) Hope you have a great wknd!! Till Monday...back to work...boohoo!!!

I survived!

Howdy people. Yes, I'm up early. Can't sleep very well. I'm in a lot of pain. Nothing unbareable but I'm very uncomfortable. Surgery went well. I was done at 9:15 and the doctor said I did great. We didn't get out of the hospital till noon. It look a while for me to get out of the drug induced fog. I'm finding the most comfy spot is the recliner so I think I'll spend a good portion of the day there. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

Quick good bye

Howdy peeps. Just wanted to let ya know I'm getting my surgery done tomorrow morning. Galblatter be gone! I'm in bright and early so say a little prayer for me. Whenever I feel around to it, and hubby's off the computer, I'll let you know how it went. I expect to be flat out for a few days so don't be worrying if you don't hear from me.

Coming to the end...

...of my day. Thank goodness. I'm tired/lazy today. Gotta turn that damn TV off at a decent hour. Last night I could have gone to bed at 8 but DH & I are sleeping in the living room while Mom & Dad are up and we were all watching TV last night. At least we had a good night. E was up 2 times before we went to bed. She was so tired, she was in bed at 6:30!!!! I mean, ah-sleep! I think the sickness from the wknd is still with her b/c she's not eating well. L on the other hand SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! That's the first time in a month I think...since she was sick and home from daycare that week last month. I just have to get the 2 operating on the same schedules. :)

Today my wonderful DH is helping out Myrn & Bruce who are trying to sell their house. He went over this a.m. to move furniture and last I heard, they have him painting. :) All because his lovely wife voluntold him. Well, he's happy to do it. These peeps have been very good to us. Tonight I'm going over to "shop" for furniture and have a yummy supper...can't wait! It makes me sad to think of them moving away but I know we'll be in touch. Hard to stay out of touch with the internet. :)

Well, I better run. Enjoy a dull TV night...Obama or McCain? Not that the race isn't interesting but I'm not into politics...and these political things are always interrupting my shows! hehehe

Feeling flat

I had a late start to my morning. E was up early but dilly dallying but DH was great to help out. Finally got out shit together and got out the door. As soon as I hit the road, I realized something was wrong. Our tires are leaking and I filled them up Friday. DH was supposed to switch to our winters over the wknd but forgot. When I got to the daycare this a.m., the tire was pretty much flat. I had to call DH to come and switch cars with me...thank goodness the daycare is only a few minutes away. Anyway, I got to work on time regardless. It's been steady all day. I got out at lunch and went to Curves. I thought I'd try it out so I wouldn't have to go back to work. I was just 2 or 3 minutes late getting back. I had to eat my lunch at my desk but no biggy. I think I'll keep this routine. I hate coming home to my girls at 6:30 with only 1 1/2 till bed.

We had a highs and lows kind of wknd. Friday was so fun taking them TorTing. E was super excited and L managed to stay out till we were done (around 7). We got home and L played in the candy on the floor. E had Ritz cheese crackers and a mini kitkat bar. We, however, dove into the rest of her stuff. There's still lots left but there was just no need! Sat I went scrapping and finished 10 pages of our 2008 album. I'm done up till June. I got home in the afternoon to a sick little girl. E had a fun morning outside, came in to eat lunch and have a short nap. She was very lathargic and kept saying her belly was sick. She started throwing up around supper and was sick a few times till she fell asleep for the night at midnight. The next day she didn't eat much till the evening. L's party went well Sunday afternoon. She devowered her cupcake...huge pieces too! Frosting everywhere. It was such a cute sight. She'll be happy to do it all over again next month. :)

Well, I better run and get some more work done.
