Where did the time go????

My goodness! I forgot to blog. Can you imagine???? I only clued in when Mari commented on my FB. Sorry gang. Believe me, you haven't missed much. ;) The end of summer's been sucky. I can't believe we've done 1, yes, just 1 beach day in Hali. I did have 2 nice days in CB. But 3 beach days doesn't make a summer!!! Unfortunately the weather's getting colder so I don't see any more in my forecast. *Fingers crossed for the wknd*

So, here's the latest. Hubby & I are working hard at getting our business going in Primerica. The things we've learned are crazy, sad and down right disgusting! But when you know better, you do better. And we're offering help around us. I really enjoy sitting down with people and sharing what we have to offer. It's awesome! And over the wknd I started the course to get licensed with 2 of our downlines, and a bunch more from the Halifax & Dart base shops. We go again Sept 11-13 and will write the course exam that Sun. If...no, When I pass, I'll write the Provincial exam on the 18th. (Wish me luck!) The whole experience has been such an exciting adventure. We're really enjoying it.

Hmm...not much else going on. We lost a wiper blade in the first storm (Bill) but did fine with the 2nd (Dave?). A lot of the kids have moved up in the girls' daycare. Now that the big kids are going to school, there's room to move everyone. L moved about 2 weeks ago (?) and E moved back in May. Not much change for them except all their friends have moved in with them. Glad E's back with her buddy Kennedy and L has her Jocelyn back (Jocelyn cries out L's name every morning when we bring her in...so adorable).

Well, that's about all for me. Gotta run. Appts. and meetings every night this week. Might do something fun (zoo, backyard camp out, beach) with the girls on the wknd in between the business stuff. Need to research that stuff. Have a good one!

Back Online

So, it took some time but I'm up and running today. We're running off extension cords, which is pretty funny. Whoever wired this place either didn't have a good map or was a bit inept. Regardless, I now have access to all my accounts. Hurray!!!

So, wknd was busy but nice. We had 2 people come over for our bbq. Then we went to my cousin-in-law's in Enfield for a bbq in the evening. L ran full bore into a table and got a huge goose egg. It's now just a bruise and looks much better than Sat night. Oh, and within 2 mins, E was crying too. She ran down an uneven stone pathway...need I say more? Scrapped knees. Lord knows how she's gonna make it through her childhood with those knees. She rivals any boy's bruises and scrapes.

Sunday was more low key. The girls were tired from keeping them out late Sat night. We went to mass, then home for lunch and a rest. L slept for 4 hours!! It was too hot in the pm to cook so MIL took us to Wendy's. DH was out working on his biz all day and met us for supper. Afterwards, MIL & I took the girls to a playground and then home to bed. Yesterday was busy for me. After work I went out for an appointment and did a few phone calls after that. Tonight I'm out for 1 appointment and a meeting. I'm glad Tues & Wed night are free!!

Waterproof mascara & extra tissues...please

No tears yet but I'm sure there will be some tomorrow. We're all going to the Lion's Head...one of our fave haunts. I've had a lot of heavy signs today. What I'll miss the most? My "boys" of course...Jo-sep-ie, Taw-lm, and Alexander. So much comedy out of this department...and inuendo I might add. It's gonna be tough.

Anyway, I only have a minute so I better go...before I cry. hehehe

Farewell Party

Just made a FB event for our work-mates. Friday's the last day Newcap & Chum will share office space. :( Sad, sad times. I've been hear working with these lovely folks for 8 years. In total, they've been together for 11. Lots of memories. I'm really excited to go but I'd have to behave. I have an appointment later that evening. Oh well, I've been drunk with these people before. I know how it feels.

I had a nice evening with the girls. Pretty quiet actually since I was super tired from the night before. I played with L and let E watch a Disney movie in my bed. Once L went down, I went in with E till the movie was over. After she went to bed, I talked with a high school chum, Mark Holland, for nearly 2 hours on the phone. It was super nice to catch up with him. I kind of forgot how close we were...but once he started talking, it all came flooding back. Man, 15 years flies by way too fast.

So tonight I had 2 appts but 1 cancelled. Just as well. I have more calls to make so that's what we'll do. Anyway, I better jet.

Computer Glitch!

So yesterday I finished my blog but unfortunately, my work computer was acting up. So no post and no time to redo. And today my brain is so foggy, I can't remember most of it. Anyway, had a productive day yesterday straightening out our finances. I got ahold of the childcare subsidy lady and we're meeting next week. It looks like we'll be getting a lot of help there. I also picked up paperwork today to delay the payment on our loan. Not sure if the paperwork will go through in time for Friday's paperwork. There is overdraft on the account so I could not pay it and then they'd just reimburse the account...but I'm going to check into it first. I don't want any surprises. And DH is starting to make headway in his business, so that's very promising. :)

I had a late night last night working on my business stuff. Phone calls, booking appts., etc. I felt bad cause I usually "warn" E that I'll be late or won't be home till she's asleep. Anyway, I didn't know I'd be so late and there were lots of tears. We had a nice breakfast (though rushed) this a.m. and tonight I'm staying in to have some time with the girlies. L is still home today. I thought she had strep last week but turns out it's just a bug going around...cold and diarrhea. I think she's coming around. Hopefully she'll be back to daycare tomorrow and DH can work on his business. At least he's able to do some stuff over the phone.

Well, that's about all my news. I see the weather's supposed to clear up tomorrow. Hurray!!! Bring back the sunshine!!!

Short week took a LONG time to get here

Boy oh boy, you'd never think this was a 4 day week. It was busy...we had people out different days on vakay. Today there's 3 of 6...so it was a bit busy till lunch. Then I spent an hour chatting online with an old friend. So nice to catch up! Anyway, happy it's nearly 5. And MIL's taking the family to supper tonight.

So we've had a few financial set backs but we've got some help in the works. I'm feeling good that we won't be ruined or go bankrupt...let's hope anyway. A big, HUGE expense is daycare. So if we could bring that down we'd be good. I've also looking into another big pmt that we are going to put on hold (thank goodness we had insurnace for payment protection!!!). There's some paperwork to fill out, but we'll be okay...it's good news.

Wknd looks like it'll be nice. Business training tomorrow a.m. Megan, Lauren, E & I are going to meet in the afternoon to go swimming. The fam is going to a bbq in the evening with Jason & Ray. Sunday is Ray's wedding shower in the early p.m. Then business meeting in the p.m. Plus, the catch up with laundry, mowing, etc. The usual drill. :) Well, hope y'all have a great one. Eerie Calm

It's just weird. I'm actually calm. We found out DH's EI is tapped out. And I'm calm. I figure I can't get too upset. We knew it was coming. He's working on his business but no $$ yet. Daycare is paid up for this month. And before we went on vakay we heard about applying for subsidy. To be honest, I had no idea what that meant. I'm very thankful to be learning about it now. :) The lady I need to speak with is on vacation till Monday. I left her a message so hopefully we can work something out quickly.

Plus, DH still has the possibility of the entrepreneurship program. He was supposed to go to the session last month but it was the Thursday before my vakay, E was sick, I HAD to go to work to cover my boss' and my work, and that was the day those 3 people were let go so I definitely needed to be there. They do the info sessions monthly (I believe) so it may be a matter of a week or 2 before DH goes. We have a few loans we may be able to delay payments on. And as aweful as it is to use a credit card, DH has a large limit on his. *sigh* What else can we do? You do what you can, right? I just keep thinking of the little birds. They don't worry where their food is coming from. The Lord will provide. And we will survive. We always do.

On the MOVE...

I'm surprised I forgot to write about yesterday. We got our official move date out of our office. August 17th, we'll be in our new digs above Speedy Print on the Windsor St. exchange. We knew it was coming, but it was a shock to have a date. So, we're working on a little 'brew-ha-ha' for next Friday. Our summer party didn't materialize and I don't think the companies are spending any cash for a final send off. But we do have a staff fund that we're hoping could pay for it. (Fingers crossed)

Tonight we're doing some work on our own business. DH did a personal speech last night at the meeting...his 2nd time. He did awesome. I'm so proud of his efforts. I am super psyched at what the future holds for us. :) It's awesome working together...and working with our team. There are 6 of us now. So cool!

Home for a Rest!!

Okay, maybe not so much since this is the first break I've taken this morning...afternoon. I started unpacking my stuff in our super messy room, and well, 4 hours later our computer desk is COMPLETELY cleared off. Mind you, the entire bed is covered in stuff, but the computer looks awesome! If DH wants to make a go of this business, he may-as-well have a professional looking area to work in. Most of the stuff on the bed is his game stuff...so we'll have to really evaluate what's worth saving and maybe selling the rest. There's just no need for all this stuff!!

So, back from vacation, which was great! The Whitty reunion was a lot of fun. We enjoyed chatting with family, drinking, being foolish!, going to the beach, staying at the chalet, etc., etc. It was an awesome way to kick off our vacation. My SIL & mom met us in Englishtown for the switch over. The girls & I went with them to Sydney which DH & MIL went back to Hali. Here's a brief overview of the week.
SUN: drive to Sydney; supper; out to see The Ugly Truth (good but raunchy)
MON: Mom, L & I went shopping at Penningtons (2 capris, 2 tops on sale!); Dad & E (& cousin M.J.) went to visit Great Grandfather (Grampy Jack Hussey)
TUES & WED: Babysit nephews with Mom (all 4 kids up at my brother's place)
THURS: Hung around home for the day; met up with my cousin Maureen, hubby & friends for a drink at Daniel's; DH arrived in the evening
FRI: Brother Mike and boys, DH & I and girls all went to Indian Beach (North Sydney); met up with DH's "big brother" Rudy & son Cory; water contaminated so played on play ground and went to Dalem Lake (near Seal Island) instead (tons of fun!!); went to McDonald's with the kids afterwards; DH & I went for a sleepover with older kids to my brother's place while younger kids stayed at Mom & Dad's
SAT: RAINY DAY so high school reunion picnic was cancelled; hung around home till church at 4; high school tour - memories!!; out for supper; visit cousin Gemma; out for drinks at Steel (home at 2am...ugh!!)
SUN: pack up picnic at Two Rivers Wildlife park (very cool place but bad flies and very hot day); went exploring the petting zoo; met up with the gals from high school (who went exploring on their own); played at playground; had picnic; packed up and went to Mira Gut (awesome beach day!!!); went back to Mom's to pack up for ride home; left Sydney at 7pm; okay drive though L cried a ton; home after midnight.

So that was vacation. Back to work tomorrow. Hopefully I can get the bedroom finished before then. It's a rainy day so the weather was made for this. :)
