On the Mend

Well no wonder I was cranky last week. I was obviously fighting off a rotten cold. I went home early Thursday and stayed home Friday. I slept for 3 hours Friday afternoon!!! It really took me down. Cold, cough and sinus troubles, which I'm prone to. I'm not sure if I have a sinus infection but it's quite possible. I read up online and a medical website said if it's a viral infection, antibiotics won't work...so I'm staying away from the doctor...but taking Advil cold & sinus frequently. I only had 2 pills this morning...and may take 2 more before bed, depending on the pain. I do a sinus rinse (I know, sexy) daily (sometimes twice) and that helps somewhat. But overall, my sinus just aches.

The wknd was more of the same. I went through more tissue than I care to admit. I did manage to take the girls to the playground...never again by myself. Too hard to watch both girls at once. It was a lot of chasing around. A good workout but tiring when you have a cold. I picked up DH after training and took the kids to Burger King cause it was late. L cried throughout most of the meal. She was so exhausted. She fell asleep on the way home and slept well after we got in. Both girls have the cough and L has a cold/runny nose/eyes too. Poor dolls. Hard being cross with them when they're sick and cranky or up in the night. Not impossible, but hard. ;) Also on Sat we cooked a pumpkin so we'll have pie for Thanksgiving. :) E asked to make one on Sat. Daddy agreed to get the pie shells (hey, I am insistant on homemade vs. canned pumpkin but I don't make pie dough...hehehe). It did turn out good but the eggs keep separating and sometimes I have egg white cooked on top of the pie...grose!!! I'm going to try pureeing the mix and see if it evens out.

Sun was a stay home day. I just rested up...oh, and tore apart the girls toys. So many little garbage toys from fast food places, and broken things, and loose playing cards and puzzle pieces. So that meant re-organizing the girls rooms and the living room (where most of the toys are). We also painted and coloured, watched movies and I did some cleaning. Man, I could probably do all the cleaning in an 8 hour day if the kids weren't around...though I'd rather spend it doing something fun. :) Well, that's all for now. Fall is so fun!!! Cook a pumpkin. I got 18 cups in my freezer!!! Mmm...pumpkin pie, pumpkin loaf, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin mousse...

PISSED OFF!!!!

I just wrote a huge blog and it's gone. FUCK! Sorry to swear but that totally pissed me off.

Hmmm...I'll TRY to recap:

- Saw Julie & Julia and it was life changing! So wonderfully marvelous! It makes me want to cook, write, eat, fulfill my dreams and become Julie Powell's BFF. :)

- Hate that we didn't have an Indian Summer (if that's still the policially correct term to use). I'm disappointed in the bitter chill and hope our fall isn't going to be chilly the whole way through. I bought $23 worth of long sleeve shirts, jammies and 1 Halloween thing from the Sally Anne. Tomorrow costumes come out...must go through what I have at home to see who needs one. :)

- Tired, want to go home now but gotta get groceries tonight. Usually a favourite task of mine but today I'd rather be in bed. I think I'm fighting off something, as is DH. He's home with L today who has a cold/fever/gunky eyes. No fun.

Well, gotta run. Hopefully this works this time.

Party wknd!

We were going concerns on the wknd. Friday did my exam but didn't pass. :( Had some time on my pitty pot but got over it by the end of the day. Went out with Mom and MIL to see "Love Happens." Pretty good movie. Sat, DH took E to a b-day party in the afternoon. I went out with the girls for a stagette...my goodness!! Rum & cokes, jello shooters galore, and that's before we left the house!!! We went to Bubbles Mansion and Taboo with our penis straws and fake name tags (I was Avana Humpalot). :) Ended up at Pizza Corner, eatin' a slice and had this 23 year old kid's arm around me. Talk about sad. But it was fun. Sun we had Deylin's b-day which was a lot of fun! The kids can run wild in that PACT centre. Love it! That was my weekend in a nutshell.

Can't wait for bed already. Stayed up watching the awards show...I can't remember which one...now that's bad! I think it was the Emmy's. :) Tonight I'm out for 1 appt. *fingers crossed* Hopefully not too late. Well, I gotta run!

*Butterflies*

Man, my poor stomach is full of butterflies. Tomorrow is my Provincial exam and it's making me nervous big-time! I like to think I'm prepared but I'll reserve judgement. I write tomorrow at 8am till noon at Dal. I won't get results till later that afternoon. If you wouldn't mind holding a prayer vigil (JK) for me that would rock! :) I'm meeting again with my study buddy Nikki to do more case studies, which really is what the exam is...140 case studies. YIKES!!! I finished the course exam about 10 minutes shy of the 4 hours. I just hope I can get through tomorrow's exam within the time limit. *deep breaths*

Hockey game with dad was really nice on Wed. Good game, 1 fight, enough for me. :) Last night I met Nikki at the library to study. We got through 10 or 11 out of 65 case studies. I feel really confident when I'm doing them cause I can rationalize the answer. And if I'm not sure, the process of elimination works every time. DH says the Provincial exam is more tricky so I better watch out. Well, the more I chat, the more nervous I get. I better let it go. So, wish me luck. I'll post on FB tomorrow (and here if I remember). It's funny cause I'm not worried if I fail...I can always rewrite. But I'd really like to pass the first time around. If I do fail, I'm not giving up!!!

Hockey Game vs. Studying

Can you guess which side won?? I got free tickets to a hockey game. I don't follow sports at all, but I do like going to games every now and then. And otherwise I would pass up on tonight's opportunity but Dad's in town and is a huge sports fan. Oh, and DH is busy tonight and can't go. So I'm skipping time with my study buddy to go to the game.

So glad Mom & Dad are in town. The girls are having a ball!!! My folks picked them up from daycare yesterday and you swear you gave them a million dollars. :P We had a nice supper, relaxed and chatted. It was nice to have couch potato time after last week's studying blitz. So tonight I'll enjoy the night out and get back to studying tomorrow and Thursday. I think we're going to see "Love Happens" on Friday night (if it's not sold out). I'm sure I'll be in for a light hearted movie after the mind numbing Provincial exam Friday morning.

I PASSED!!!

If you were on FB you've seen already. I passed my LLQP exam. Onto the Provincial exam on Friday to get my license. I was very relieved!! Only 4 out of 16ish passed. Hurray!!!! It's tough being excited when so many didn't make it. The failure rate is very high...but I won't get into the details. It's a lot of work and a lot to digest and when it's not served up very well...anyway, I'm sure you get my drift. That pretty much consumed my whole wknd. Now I have till Friday to prepare so it will be a review-fest all week. I feel bad cause my folks are in town and I'd rather visit with them. And on Sat I have a stagette I can NOT miss. But hopefully they'll understand. Besides, they just come to see the grandkids. :)

Well, I gotta run. Working all week through my lunches to make up for taking Friday a.m. off for the exam. Glad it's nearly 5...I'm worn out!

Wild Wknd Fun

We had the best wknd ever! Camp out, bon fires, the zoo...so much fun with the girls! Plus I got lots of study time in with my study buddies. We had a worksheet to do so we met a few times over the wknd and again last night. DH met with them this a.m. and with me during lunch to help us finish up. Yeah, that's done! I still want to read a few chapters to feel more comfortable with the material. Fortunately my appt. tonight was cancelled so I have some time to read tonight and lunch time tomorrow.

Oh, so one misadventure I had on the wknd was nearly getting my finger caught in the sliding door of our minivan. I still have my finger, it was swollen for a few days. My diamond didn't make it though. The setting was bent on a 45 degree angle and the diamond is either on the lawn or in the door. I look on the positive side though...I'll just buy bigger. :)

So, that's about all my news. Summer days are fading into fall...which isn't too bad though I could use some more summer. :) Have a good one.

Loooong wknd, long overdue

T-minus 2 1/2 hours till the wknd and I couldn't be more thrilled!!! DH & I...okay, I planned some fun ideas for the kids. Since the weather's getting crisp, it's now or never for a camp out. So, Saturday night I'm thinking of having a campfire and tent out with E. She loves campfires (aka eating marshmellos) and camping out (aka running/jumping around in the tent). It's a cheap way to please her and if it's too cold or scary for her, we're just a few feet away from her room. My other plan is the zoo. There's a cool one I saw online - Oaklawn - which I'm sure tons of people have heard about...but it's a first for me. It had a coolest website and the price it right. It's over an hour away but the DVD will occupy them there and *fingers crossed* a nap on the way home. Besides that E wants me to watch her new movie with her tonight...a treat since we've been busy most of this week.

I started reading the book for my course. Not sure if I'm going to read it word for word or not. I feel like I really need to in order to grasp the material but DH seems to think I can by pass every word in order to understand the most impt parts. I'll have a better idea this wknd when I sit down with the stuff and do a few case studies and practice tests.

Well, I gotta run. Have a blast this wknd!!

Little Blessings

...add up really quick to a day full of gratitude! MIL is off this week so DH is blessed with using her car...which in turns blesses me cause he takes the girls to daycare. TWO days I got to sleep in till 7 a.m.!!!!!!! Up getting just ME ready and not me and 2 kids. E even helped pack my lunch...such a doll!!!! And DH called to say he picked up the girls...2 days in a row!!! Plus supper's ready every night. My life is so full of blessings!

I got an added bonus tonight too. I did have an appointment which had to be rescheduled. Now I have time to reach my course manual. Hurray!! And it'll be nice not to have to rush out. Maybe I'll have a bath in the big tubby with the girls tonight. :) Well, I'm gonna jet. Nearly 5 and I gotta pack up. Have a blessed day!

Hello Sunshine

...I just typed up a big long blog and it didn't take. *sigh* Well, let's see if I can remember what I wrote:

- Big windows...oh yes, I was bragging about the kick ass view from our office. The sun is shining in...beautiful blue sky...picturesque basin. It's awesome.

- 1st Appt with DH...we went on an appointment together last night. DH-the trainer...me-the trainee. I covered his butt a few times...made me feel really good. :) I'm considering being a field trainer once I get my license. I'm a little nervous about coming up against a question I don't know the answer to...but my other trainer said I can always call him. So, it's giving me confidence to get out there.

I think that was a bulk of it. Well, gotta run. GET OUT AND ENJOY THE SUN!!! (That rhymes). :)
