Back again...

Don't get excited, no contractions yet. Walked around Hlfx Shop Ctr for 15 mins this a.m. then spent 40 mins in Sears Outlet store. Found nothing for me but got a CUTE pair of sleepers that say "My first Christmas" for little L. They were on for $11.99...which I didn't think was an awesome price but it's really cute with embroidery on it so I caved. :) Dropped by DH's work afterwards and spent an hour there (he wasn't busy today) and chatted with his co-workers. Ends up that we are going to his staff party tonight. We didn't sign up since we didn't know if we'd be able to go. One guy had to back out so we're taking his seats. It's at Hlfx Feast Dinner Theatre. I've been before. It's nice...but not worth the $$ in my opinion. But hey, we're not paying. ;)

So, after DH's work, I ran into SS for milk, lunch and do banking. Ran into 2 Curves gals and both said they missed me. :) I miss them too and am pretty committed that I'll be back in Jan. I could go before then but don't want to kid myself. Christmas brings too much temptation and I've just spent the better part of a year being sober. May-as-well let loose in Dec and get back to normal in the New Year. :) Well, I just got up from a nap and want to get ready. We have to be downtown for 6:15. DH's taking a van from work so he can get home early and we'll drop it off on our way in town. Should be a fun night. They're glad he's going. One guy said he wouldn't go because DH wasn't going to be there. Nice to be loved. :) Well, again, have a good wknd. I'll keep you posted.

Another day passes...

...and nothing! Not a contraction, not a cramp (other than my leg), this just sucks! Yes, I am severely impatient. I know! It's hard when these last days feel like an eternity. I'm sure I'll forget it all when I have her in my arms...and I'm positive I'll be wishing to have this time back when I've been up all night trying to breast feed or listening to her every move. Speaking of which, E's still coughing like crazy. I heard her a lot last night...and she woke up a few times. I didn't get up with her, just waited till she went back to sleep, which she eventually did. So this a.m., she's STILL asleep and it's after 7...that's late for her. I'm giving in and going to give her her puffer this a.m. This cough has gone on too long!

Well today's E's last full time day at daycare. She'll be in Tue/Thu starting next week. I hope she handles the adjustment well and doesn't ask to stay home on her daycare days. I don't want to waste the $$. Plus, I know L & I will need that time to bond. Nothing on my schedule today. I have to get milk so I'll run into Bayers Lake. Other than that, I'm going for a walk. :) I keep praying one of these natural methods will kick start something. Hopefully we'll go this wknd. With that said, I won't be blogging over the wknd and likely won't get on the computer. If I don't post Monday...you'll know something's up. :) Well, hope y'all have a great wknd!

I'm STILL here and STILL pregnant!

Can you tell I'm getting tired of this???? Saw the OB yesterday and I'm not diliated so no "sweeping" was done. She said Lily's head is very low (she got one finger in to touch the top of her head) and I'm 30% thinned out. So, we're trying natural methods to help things move along. So far, no success. I "feel" like it could be any time but who knows. I hope it's before next Wed...which is my next appt. I'll have E home that day but DH said he's come to the appt. with me since they'll likely "sweep" me. DH's guess was I'd have L yesterday, MIL said Dec 4. I hope she's wrong...I don't want to wait THAT long. Mom & dad can't come up till after today (dad has an appt. at home). Maybe L's trying to be courteous and wait for tomorrow. :) That would be funny. With E, I went into labour at midnight on a Friday and had her at 11 p.m. on the Saturday...maybe L's trying to be a copy cat. Who knows?

Well, scrapping was fun with Shay...although we spent more time catching up. :) Which was great! Got to visit with Amber too and gave her some Mat clothes. More to come, soon I hope. :) Hmmm...dropped by work yesterday and met the new guy. I can tell I like him already. He's young/my age-ish, got a good sense of humour, a good fit I think. If/when the split comes around, he may luck out with a FT job. Put it this way, he left his previous FT job to work my Mat leave position...very telling about where he works.

Hmm...what else. Oh, stopped into Shoppers yesterday and picked up a new bottle. Playtex Advance is what I used with E. The one-way valve was a saving grace. Now they have a "natural shape" more like a breast. I had 1 bottle (gift from H&H) so I picked up another and some slow flow nipples. I'm not leaving anything to chance this time. I REALLY hope breastfeeding will work this time but wanted to be prepared if I had to pump/use formula. Last night I sterilized the bottles, 2 soothers, and a nipple shield...just in case. Oh, and yesterday I bought a box of yummy praline chocolates for myself, gorged and watch Chocolat. It was super nice to relax. :)

I finished the girl's stockings 100%. Just have to stuff their ornaments and sew up the end, which I'll do today. Other than that, I have nothing else to do. I was tempted to go to the garage and haul in the Christmas decorations but decided against it. No worries...I was going to use the dolly. :) I want to wait till Sat and get E to help. And maybe make Christmas rice crispy squares (couldn't resist buying the red/green crispies). I CANNOT wait for Christmas this year!!!! Esp. with the 2 girls, and M&D visiting. It's going to be a great one...I can feel it!

Well I've babbled on enough. Hope y'all are doing great. I'll keep you posted on what's going on. If I go into labour, I'll call Shay and she can spread the news...alright Shay? Take care!

Fell off the face of the Internet

Sorry about that. Our computer went bonkers yesterday so I couldn't get on again to post. I'm still preggers so you didn't miss anything. :) DH spent over an hour and a half on the phone with a lovely tech from Aliant named Jennifer. She was great! DH even got patched through to her supervisor to tell him so. She got us back online and set up our Outlook again (which hasn't been working since our computer crashed MONTHS ago!). No more Webmail on the internet...yeah!

So, E did go to Daycare yesterday and I went shopping. Got the groceries, stopped at the NSLC for St. Nick's Eggnog liquor (it's in so I suggest you buy it fast cause it sells out quick...just $13/bottle and delish!!!), and then went to Costco to use my "rewards cheque" (which I forgot to pay with...doh!). I bought 2 treats for myself (Christmas gifts from the girls)...one of which is that cookbook you were talking about Mari (Deceptively Delicious??). I barely read the front before wrapping it...so it will be a surprise. :) My SIL has that book as well since her little guy barely eats anything. She made the pudding recipe (no idea what's in it) and he ate it without batting an eye. E's a good eater when it comes to meat & mashed potato/carrot but that's about all the veggies she eats at home. I think this will help get some more nutrition in her...which is great for any kid.

Today I'm heading over to Shay's (hurray!) to scrap. I was going to head over first thing but felt really tired and weak so I went back to bed. I just got up at 10!! Can't get over it. I must have needed it. Plus, I won't need a nap this afternoon and can scrap till it's time to pick up E. :) Oh and before I head to Dart I have to drop off my ROE which DH didn't get to do yesterday (grrr). Then my claim can get processed and hopefully I'll get something soon. Well, better run off. If you didn't get a chance, check out my pics on FB...posted yesterday (before the computer went wonky).

Weekend update

Well, despite best efforts (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) I'm still pregnant. :) However, I'm really happy because Lily's room is 99% done. Just a few last minute things that can wait. I'll post pics on FB shortly. I know it's that nesting instint but I thought I'd lose my mind over not getting the room ready. But there's only 1 week left, so I'm justified in feeling nutso. :)

E's fighting a fever, coughing, runny nose, etc., so I may keep her home today. I'm suffering from extremely sore hip syndrome. We're 2 good ones. :) Anyway, not sure if we'll do much of anything today. I'll keep you posted...and post later on.

Have a happy Monday!

Quickie

I'm sooo sooo ready to crash in bed so I'll be brief. I kept E home today and of course, she was the first one up. I swear she plans it that way. Any daycare day I have to wake her up. But tilday, she was up at 6:15!!! I am so tired since I was up watching Grey's last night. Didn't bother wasting my time with Survivor. I HATE those recap shows.

Anyway, got L's curtain done. Just a few touches to add to the socks. Oh, and I'm making ornaments out of the material (L's 1st Chrismtas 2007; E's first Christmas 2005). Today we're writing a letter to Santa. Other than that, we're waiting for our new fridge & stove. Well, I'm gonna lie down while E watches her shows.

Thursday already???

I was on the missing list yesterday. Went to my OB appt in the morning...everything is STILL normal. Next week they'll do an internal and sweep my membranes if I want. I remember thinking "no" to that when pregnant with E but now I'm SOOOOO ready to have this baby...so I may. That's if my "own measures" aren't fruitful. Afterwards I met Jeff and his coworker Donna for lunch at Trinity. SO DELICIOUS!! I really love it there. Mari, you'll have to try it next time your up. It's a tad pricy but worth every bite! I highly recommend the Maple Squash Soup. Yesterday I had the Chicken Dip Pizza (new): spinach & artichoke dip (as the sauce) with chicken breast and then covered with more cheese. I was in heaven! :) Plus I had to get the MSS...I get it everytime. :)

So, I got home...tired cause E had me up 3x again. And instead of having a nap like a sane person, I just vegged on the couch for 3 hours. What a site! Anyway, I dropped E at daycare this a.m. and went back to bed when I got home. I just woke up at 10. :) Back to E's wake ups. In a fit, 2 nights ago, I prompted her to find out what exactly she was scared of. She's very skitsy about wall outlets with no safeties in them. Well the extension cord we were using for the fish tank was the issue. We took the tank out of her room last night and put it in the living room. She slept through the night last night so we think that did the trick. (fingers crossed)

I have the whole day ahead of me and a few projects still left. Only problem is I feel like doing none of them. :) I decided I will tackle L's curtain for sure and hopefully have time to finish her stocking. I have a chiro appt this afternoon and was going to get groceries...not sure...likely though since I slept in and don't need a nap. Plus I'm keeping E home tomorrow and don't want it to be an errand day. Other than that, I have just 2 stocking stuffers to wrap. And I'm leaving the finishing touches to L's room for this wknd. All that's left is the trim, new outlet covers, new thermastat, wallies and clean up. CAN'T WAIT!!

Well hope you all have a great day. Shay, miss ya girl! Unfortunately I have a busy wknd. Sat night is my only free time. Maybe we'll work something out or meet in the day time next week. :)

I do this everytime...

I am such an internet junkie! At 1:30 I figured I'd lie down for a nap. Then I put something away in the kitchen and found the Baby thank you cards. Wrote out a few for my shower guests. Then off to my room. Decide to put the computer on for white noise. Why not check email...then FB...then blogs...then write my blog. It's 5 to 2!! I'm such a procrastinator when it comes to taking naps. I missed mine all together yesterday. And today I planned on doing nothing since my appliances might be coming (not today after all). So my kitchen and living room are in a bit of disarray (sp?) hence being lazy and watching movies today. I did finish my gift wrapping and think I'm pretty much done now. But I'm contemplating finishing L's stocking and/or curtain.

First things first though. I need that nap. Tomorrow I'm going to the OB and was going to take E out of daycare. I decided not to in case they want to do an internal exam. Instead I'll likely keep her home Friday for an extra long wknd. Well I promised myself to keep this brief. Off I go to dream land. Oh...BTW, night 1 with the nasal spray went pretty well...except for the 3 a.m. sneeze fit. At least I got back to sleep okay and had little congestion. I'm going to take another dose now. Hopefully it will make my nap runny-nose free. :) TTFN!

ENT Update

Thank goodness I got to the appt, although I'm not sure the result is what I want. Not that I wanted surgery...just hoped there was a "this is broken, and this is how we fix it" answer. The Dr. said I have a sensitivity...almost like sensitive skin, but inside my nose. So certain things will trigger running/stuffiness...like change in temperature/humidity, scents, etc. And of course, it's heightened with pregnancy. He prescribed a nasal spray (one I already have but a lesser dose). He also said to use a cool mist machine (unfortunately I have a warm mist one already...guess I'll have to go shopping). I'm due to go back in 3 months. Could be worse I guess.

Oh, speaking of worse...I felt so blessed to get some $$ I wasn't expecting from work. Between that and the top up, I thought I just might have enough to pay off both student loans. And then the stove went...drat! Both fridge and stove are as old as I am so I shouldn't complain. DH's aunt owns Bedford Buy & Sell and gave me a great deal on 2 new appliances. Still, there goes that "extra" $$ out the window. It never rains but it pours. What can you do? We couldn't live off 2 small barely working burners and the pour fridge seals have had the biscuit. Again, could be worse. Could've been that we didn't have the $$ what-so-ever and had to buy on a credit card. Gotta look at the bright side, even if the situation does suck.

Whirlwind weekend

We had a lot going on this wknd. Friday day I did errands and finished up at the spa!! It was very nice. I got a mani, pedi and massage. The massage was my fav part. Definitely needed at this stage of my pregnancy. The mani wasn't anything special. In fact, I had to take off what was left of the polish last night and reshape my nails. Bummer...but to be expected. I'm more a fan of the pedi anyway. So, Friday p.m. was the shower. Lovely gifts, small crowd...just 6 of us. And thanks so much Myrn for hosting. :)

Saturday a.m. E & I went on our usual library trip. Afterwards we met daddy at First Choice hair cutters and got E's first official hair cut. She was absolutely fab and her hair looks really cute. Just a simple bob. After all the praising and promises of treats, they were taken away when she took off in the parking lot. DH started after her and stopped when he noticed no cars were around. I on the other hand could only think to run after her and grab her. I screamed and yelled and practically dragged her back to the van. She just thought it was a fun game of chase. DH scolded her and I sat in the front seat in tears. Again, we reinforced holding hands at all times and how very, very dangerious it is in parking lots. I hope this time she gets the message. I may have to resort to a restraint since I'll soon have my hands full with a carrier. *Deep breath*

After all that drama, we went for a bite before heading home, and had naps. Planned to meet up in the p.m. with Jen Allen (jr. high/high school friend). Jen, her brother and I met for supper and got caught up on each other's news. It was so nice to see her as I've missed her on a few of her previous visits. Got home in time to see little miss off to bed. She's having issues with sleeping. She keeps waking saying she's afraid of the wall (the one her bed's pushed up against). I thought it might be because the furnise duct is right under it so I moved her room around. No luck. She was up 3x last night. Very frustrating.

Sunday we went to church, got some laundry done and DH & I painted after my afternoon nap. The Pink looks AWESOME! We did a second coat last night and I'm not sure it needs a third but will wait for DH's opinion. If so, we'll get that done tonight and leave the trim for another day. Today I'm going to work on the girls' stockings and L's curtain. I have my ENT appt. this afternoon. FINALLY! I hope they can shed some light on what's going on up there. :) I'll keep you posted. Well, I'm off. Take care!

Lazy day

Well, the weather is definitely affecting me. I am super lazy today but I'm not 100% acting like it. I woke up early, made breakfast for the three of us, helped E get out the door with DH, and that's all before 7:30. Then I thought it a good idea to make a trip to the garage. I dragged in the baby stuff, found the mini-tent for E to play with, and dug through the Christmas boxes for a stocking (to use as a template for the girls). After I got the baby stuff in the washer, I decided wrapping more presents was a good idea. Got that done while watching a movie (Moulon Rouge-sp?). Then I reorganized the gifts and put them in L's crib...while doing that I noticed a few baby things that need washing. Isn't it insane??? I remember Shay sending an email about how a mom starts one job and finds a zillion others in the process...that's me today.

So now I'm checking out. I'm getting in the tub, having a nap and if I get time, I'll work on the stockings later. I'm picking up E today from daycare and I'd like to get her a bit early, so I best not be too wrapped up in other things. Oh, not sure if I mentioned yesterday that before E & I headed out, we made her a shirt to wear on delivery day. Just a long sleeve pink shirt with "I am a BIG SISTER" written on the front with a few flowers. It was PERFECT...till I got a green dot on the bottom corner. Oh, and then I felt the need to "check" if the ink had dried and smugged the B. GRRR! It still looks cute though...and I'll just say they were E's contributions. hehehehe

Well, I guess I better get to that bath/nap thing I was talking about. Great TV night coming up! Tomorrow I'll be MIA. I have to drop into work and then...I have my SPA DAY in the afternoon. Oh, and can't wait for the baby shower tomorrow night!!! Pink, pink and more pink! :) Gotta love little girlies!

Fun morning with E

I kept E out of daycare today to spend the day with me. I want her to get used to a mid-week break from daycare since she'll be going Tu/Th starting in December. We had a fun morning shopping for Christmas gifts...with the exception of her escape in the parking lot. We came out of a store and she took off down the side walk. When I yelled to her to come back, she got between 2 parked cars and ran out into the "street." I screamed and ran after her. Thank the good Lord there were no cars driving by or she would have been hit. I was so scared and pannicked. I just grabbed her and yelled no over and over. Anytime she has a disobedient episode I usually make "new rule." Hold mama's hand at all times in the parking lot. I think I scared it into her. Hopefully we'll never have an experience like that again.

After that drama, we went to the IWK for my OBGYN appt. Everything's A-OK as usual. It was nice for E to hear L's heartbeat, but the static noise did scare her. My doctor is only in on Wed and I'm taking E out of daycare the next 2 Wed so she'll be able to tag along again. After my appt., we went for lunch, picked up a few groceries and now it's nap time. I can still hear E so I thought I'd take a sec to report in. :) Yesterday I didn't take the time. I cut up my pumpkin and cooked it...a 3 hour ordeal. I did some laundry and wrote out my Christmas cards too. They'll go out late this year though since I'm waiting till I have our pictures done to send out. So that's about all that's new. Tomorrow I'm staying put. I'll likely go out to the garage and get the infant car seat, tub, etc., and wash everything. Oh, and I'd like to start sewing the girls stockings and L's curtain. We're leaving the painting till the weekend since we'll have more time.

Well, better get to bed. Hope you're having a great day!

Really long weekend!

Boy, what a great weekend. We got a lot done and had a lot of fun too. Friday night's dinner at Bedford Prime was amazing. The food was fantastic and the prices were surprisingly wonderful! Not what you would expect from a high quality Steak house. If you're ever looking for a great steak, give it a try. It's on the Bedford Highway where Zorba's used to be (just after the Stardust Motel).

Saturday a.m., E & I went to the library for story time and got some books. She was a little doll. I took her for lunch at McD's in exchange for being well behaved while we shopped. Again, an angel! She picked out a really nice Christmas gift for L. So sweet!!! We went home for lunch & naps while Daddy worked on Jason's car...unfortunately the didn't have all the parts to get it done. Saturday p.m., we planned a little get together: Transformers on our big screen and supper. MIL and Aunt Debbie worked tirelessly all day preparing wings, ribs and dessert. Everything was amazing! Our company enjoyed every finger lickin' bit of it. :)

Sunday a.m., we went to church and a quick trip to the flea market. Saturday afternoon and Sunday day, DH & I worked on L's room. We primed the walls twice because of the dark paint. And the ceiling needs 3 coats (DH's doing the 3rd now). The good thing is we'll be ready to do the wall paint tomorrow...if we get time in the evening. Other than having fun with E and rests, that was our weekend. Well, gotta go check on the gingerbread E & I made. MMMM!

Talk to ya later!

Party time!

Well, it's Friday...but it doesn't feel like a Friday now that I'm off. Everyday is Friday now. :) Sorry, didn't mean to rub it in. Yesterday was very productive. I got all my wrapping done, but I still have to do more shopping. I have nothing for DH or MIL, plus I have some things ordered and en route. But with the majority done, I feel good about it. I also got in my bubbly tub and got groceries. TV night was awesome. Yeah...J.R. is gone!!! I couldn't stand him. Looks like some exciting weeks to follow. Poor James has a big target on his back. I love him but know he's too big a threat to keep. Darn it! So that was my Thursday.

Today will be really exciting too. Going to Shay's for the day to scrap...yahoo!! Tonight we're going to Bedford Prime (mmm...steak) for DH's aunt's b-day. She's coming up from CB for the wknd. Plus, Jason's coming from NB to visit too. Tomorrow night we plan on having a scoff of chicken wings and ribs and watch Transformers on our big screen. We've invited Jason & Ray, Doug & Sara and Shay & Mark. We'll have a full house! At are place, it's always the more, the merrier. We'll also get to work on L's room this wknd. Other than that, lots of relaxing is in store. Well, I must get going. Hope you all have a great wknd! Take care,

Lest we forget! Happy Remembrance Day!

Day 2 at home...well, really Day 1 at home.

Yesterday I wore myself out running the roads. I didn't get home till 4:30 after I picked up E. It was a very productive day though. Started out at Motherhood Maternity and got a few things...nursing bra, more panties and a shirt on sale. I have so many dressy shirts, I needed something casual now that I'm off. Everything was normal at the OBGYN. After that, I got the stocking material at Fabricville...it's the only fabric store in Hlfx now. It was expensive but luckily they had a 1/2 off sale. I got a burgundy base for E's and a white base for L's. Both have pink poincettas but L's also has calla lilies on it...couldn't resist. :) I also bought matching pale pink fleece to line the inside and will cuff outward at the top.

The chiro visit went great. He said everything looked good. Worked a touch on my shoulder again. It's getting better each time...really mild now. Did a quick stop at a computer store. DH wants a new one but it's just not the time. Our $$ is wrapped up in paying down the large student loan. Instead I bought us a DVD burner for Christmas. That plus blank DVDs was just under $70...better than the $150 we thought we'd have to shell out. Had a delightful lunch at Cora's...by myself...but it was still nice. Went to Costco to scout out DVDs. The Avon book has a special Christmas DVD of Toopy & Binoo I want to get for E...and it's the last thing, I promise!!! They didn't have it but they did have Transformers, which I got for DH. I also bought mini DVDs for the digital video recorder and a few things for L...I barely have anything for her.

Finally, on to the eye dr. I was an hour early but wanted time to shop around for glasses. I found a pair I loved...they are a pale pink shade with rinestones on the arms. The gal suggested the brown pair and they did suit me better. Got in early for my appt. and nothing's changed...so I really didn't need glasses but I got them anyway. I wanted a change, plus my other ones can be a spare. I'll get the new ones in a week. After that, it was home to pick up E from daycare, have supper and then DH & I went to a meeting over a proposed community centre for our area. If you can believe it, many were opposed because it would mean a property tax increase of $5 increase/year (on a $100,000 home). Is that nuts or what????? I'd save that in one trip to Spryfield wave pool, or in town for something fun to do with E. The sketches looked beautiful! Fortunately, you could just vote and leave, which is what we did since we were beat.

So, that was my busy day. Today I hope it's much less busy. I'm scheduling in Christmas wrapping, a bath, grocery shopping and maybe a garage hunt for baby stuff...we'll see. Hope your day goes well.

An early start to the day

I've been up since 6 a.m. Darn sinuses! I'm still sitting here snotting, praying to God I have this baby before or after my ENT appt. I can't take much more of this!!!

Anyway, gotta get up now anyway to drive the Mr. into work. Plus I have 3 appts. today...OBGYN, chiro and eye dr. Hoping to do some shopping too. Need nursing bras and want to get material for the girls stockings...no luck at Walmart yesterday. I'll try Fabricville today. I have to get to the bank too. The union is helping me out while I'm off. Looks very much like I can pay most/all of the Federal loan off! Yeah!!! That's the bigger one.

Oh, speaking of blessings, I forgot to mention, I won the Christmas dinner basket at the Tea & Sale (at Mom's church). It comes with $100 gc for Sobeys and a whole slew of pantry stuff (chocolates, chips, coffee, tea, stuffing mix, etc.), table cloth, oven mitts, etc., etc., in a beautiful hamper basket. It couldn't come at a better time for us. We really are blessed this year!

Well, gotta throw myself in the shower and get ready to go. Have a great day at work Mari...I'll be thinking about you and your sickies. Can't wait to see you Friday Shay! Stay-at-home moms scrappin' day!!!!

Last Day!

Soooooooooo happy, I can't even tell you! It's been busy so the time's flying by. They had a gathering in the lobby and gave me a card with a Prince George gift certificate, and flowers. And there was cake! Chocolate baby!! Just after the congrats, Jeff came in the door with more flowers. :) What a doll!! Both got me lilies for Lily...how sweet!!!

I'll miss the gang here. It's a fun bunch and I have the sick feeling that things are drastically going to change by the time I get back. Rumours of a split seem more realistic now. Who's going where, who knows? I have my dream scenario but goodness knows if that'll turn out. I'm doing well not thinking about it and feel reassured that my position is safe since I have seniority in my department. Only my boss is above me. I guess we'll just wait and see how it unfolds.

Well, I was going for lunch with Myrn but she's on course so we're going out after work. That gives me time to go out and do errands. I want to get material to make stockings for the girls this Christmas. I did one for Emma 2 years ago but it didn't turn out quite how I wanted. So, tomorrow I'll be on the road and likely won't be able to post. I'll keep in touch and see how often I can write.

Take care, see ya!

We survived Noel!

We're among the lucky ones as well!! We lost power in the wee hours Sunday a.m. and didn't get it back till 7 p.m. last night. It was a welcomed sight since poor Daddy was running out of creative ideas with his shadow puppets. :) What a champ!! All in all, we made out well. Just 2 trees came down between our property and the neighbours, and they kindly landed in the V of another tree.

Friday night I stocked up at the grocery store and we chilled for the rest of the night. Sat a.m. we went to Kaylea's b-day party (friend's daughter) and had a ball watching E bowl for the first time. It was so fun! I really miss it and think we should do it more often. On the way home, the rain started and I started to get nervous...not like me. I love storms but guess being preggers and all. DH put the lawn furniture away while I filled the tubs and a 10L bucket with water. We had the candles and flashlights prepped too. We all napped in the afternoon and in the evening, DH & I worked on removing the characters in Lily's room. SOS pads worked much better and got them off quicker.

Although it was blustery, I slept well. DH was awake till about 3 a.m. E woke early, 6 a.m. which was really 5. I got up with her, got her bkft and lied on the couch while she played. We landed back in my bed and she jumped around/played with her baby. Once Nana was up, E went out with her and I got a bit more sleep. Once DH & I were up, we got the Coleman stove out and had bacon & eggs. We went in town for coffee and passed about a dozen Tim's that were either full up or closed b/c it had no power. We resorted to Robin's in the end. We drove out to Purcell's Cove afterwards and watched the ocean waves. It was crazy!! You could see white water way, way out in the ocean.

Well, I better get back to it. Just today and tomorrow left. Cannot wait!!!

The calm before the storm???

If you haven't heard, we're supposed to have a messy afternoon tomorrow. I wasn't going to get groceries today but I'm rethinking it. We have a b-day party to go to tomorrow at 10:30 so it wouldn't be till the afternoon that we'd be able to get groceries...right when the storm is due to come. And if I try to sneak in tomorrow before the party, it'll likely be chaos. So, I'm thinking I'll get DH & MIL to pick up E and I'll go for groceries right after work.

So, not much going on. Feeling SO much better emotionally knowing that I have just 2 days left to work. I've made copious notes for my replacement and my boss/coworkers will have to help him/her with the nuts and bolts of the job. Regardless, the worry is off my shoulders. Other than that, I should have a light Monday/Tuesday. Only 1 thing left on the board for each day. I covered off a few things ahead of time too.

Besides our Sat plans, we'll likely get at Lily's room. There hasn't been any progress on it and I'm getting antsy. If we get the remaining characters off and get some painting done, I think I'll feel MUCH better. I bet we could do the ceiling and prime before the wknd's out. We were also thinking of planning a play date with a former coworker of DH's. This gal's son goes to daycare with E (small world). But depending on the weather, maybe we should hold off. We'll see how bad it gets.

Anyway, gotta run. Have a great wknd!!

Just 3 more days!

That's it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who are just finding out, my OB signed a doctor's note for me to finish work on Tuesday...yes, this Tuesday. I can't tell you how elated I am! I've been tired, sore and in pain for weeks now. So glad to finally have the opportunity to get off my feet. However, my first day off is full of appts so I'll have to wait till Thursday to relax. And to relax, I've got some plans. NEED to get my hair cut DESPERATELY. And I'm booking a date for my spa gc. Plus, I want to plan some special stuff with E, and get Lily's room FINISHED! I'm also going to get a head start on Christmas. I have things to wrap and I can fill out my cards. I'm sending the cards late though so I can include our pics. Better late than never, right?

So, onto Halloween. We had a super fun time with E last night. She dressed up as a kitty for daycare (hoping to get pics from them since I forgot to take any...darn it!). And in the night, she had her unicorn costume on. I threw on a wig and a black robe for fun too. ;) She had a ball going door to door. I thought we'd do a few houses but she wanted to keep going. We stayed out till 7 and had a bag full. We got home and sorted through everything picking out her favs. Then she had I bag of Cheetos and a kitkat bar. So hilarious seeing her face and hands covered in melted chocolate. hehehehe When she went to bed, the rest of us had some treats and I packed the rest for Jeff's work. I saved a few things for E but not much. She's not a huge fan of chips...rather eat crackers...and she doesn't like candy at all, unless it's plain chocolate. I have lots of pics I'll post on FB...when DH's not on the computer at home...good luck!

Hope your T or T night was delish too! Gotta go!
