Movie Night - SNOWCAKE

Wow...what a stunner. DH & I really liked this movie. Very kwirky and uniquely Canadian. Amazing acting...Sigorney Weaver was AMAZING!!! She plays a highly functional autistic woman. The story goes that her daughter bums a lift with this sad, lonely fellow and not long in the journey, they are hit by a transfer truck and she's killed. The man goes to visit her mother for forgiveness and to somehow relieve his guilt over this incident and previous skeletons in his closet. Very moving tale. I recommend you see it. It'll leave you thinking.

So, I broke down last night. After all this temptation with the 12 Days, I decided to have dessert last night. Something that I really wanted and haven't had in a long time. Montana's Apple Cobbler. It was delicious and I don't regret enjoying it. I didn't finish it and I found it extremely sweet. Next time, I'll make a low-fat, sweetner version at home. Still, sometimes you need experiences like that to make you realize the truth. It is hard to leave that guilt on the shelf though. I'm constantly reassuring myself that it was a conscious decision, not a whim, and I learned from it not to have it again. Still, it's a struggle.

Tonight's weigh in and I don't expect to go down. I'm PMSing so I'll likely be up a bit or stay the same, which I'm cool with. I indulged with 2 desserts and 2 dip/cracker days. Overall, I am pleased I haven't eaten my way though the holidays. I'm a bit concerned about going to CB next week without coming back with cargo. I think I'll do alright now. I just need to prepare.

Anyway, I really must go. TTFN!

Desert once in a while is not a terrible thing, you need a treat every now and then. Being self-aware is good - you're doing awesome!! Don't be too hard on yourself.

I'll have to check out that movie, never even heard of it.

Hope you enjoy the holidays in CB. I hope Santa is good to you all!

Never heard of the movie either, but sounds like it's worth seeing.

I think getting to know you in this process is going to help you overcome your common pitfalls.

And a treat every now and then is well deserved. You are doing awesome!!!
