Top of the Evenin' to ya!
Hurray, it’s St. Patty’s Day! I only wish we were a little more prepared for it. The last 2 years, we had an annual St. Patty’s Day party. This year I wasn’t on the ball enough. But we were sick and I didn’t get organized. So, we’re just celebrating at home with Guinness for Dad, Smithwick’s for Mama, Bailey’s for Nana, and chocolate coins for the girlies. I half thought of doing an Irish stew with lamb, but we’ve got boiled dinner instead. Good enough for this year. Maybe we’ll bring back the party next year if the budget allows.
So, had a productive evening singing last night. We worked on some really nice harmonies. And MIL and I are working on solo (sort of) parts. (The whole choir sings the chorus and MIL & I sing the verses.) Oh, forgot to mention that I’m doing a cantor (solo) part on Holy Thursday mass (Ubi Caritas). And I’m doing a psalm at the Vigil. I’m getting much more confident to do the solos. I bombed a line in the psalm (and I’m not being critical…I really bombed it) 2 weeks ago. I completely lost the tune to one of the lines in the verse (which is done a capella) and faked it horribly. But hey, I didn’t care. I just kept going and finished it like nothing happened. I wanted to burst out laughing when I got back to my seat.
Oh, and guess what I did today??? I got up EARLY and worked out!!! I got such an energy boost…which was really needed. E woke with a nightmare. I ran in to calm her and totally woke up…at 3 a.m.!! It took me till 4 before I fell back asleep. Then up at 5:30. UGH! Anyway, I did it. Oh, and the best news: I’m down 4.4 pounds. I ate chips, cupcakes, drank wine but I followed that book by Paul McKenna. I ate when I was hungry, ate whatever I wanted, ate slowly, and stopped when I was full. So simple. I feel so silly that it took this long for me to figure it out. And since I’m not deprived, I don’t binge. Plus, in his book, he works a lot on changing your negative feelings to positive, which leads to feeling better about yourself. I find it really remarkable. Pretty amazing when I thought it was the dumbest idea to buy the book. I’m so glad I did. It’s been a God-send, truly.
Well, I best be off. Hope you have a fun day. Eat something green…unless it’s been in back of the fridge for too long. Hehehe
