I'm SUPER busy...

...so I'll be brief! DH had a great first day...and a terrible night at home. I'm calling a plumber. These people...these stupid people who put this house together. Despite DH's best, and I mean best, and many efforts, it's just beyond what he can handle. He's done everything right but what he has to work with is atrocious. Fortunately, I have a line on a guy through work. Hopefully he can fix the problem without too much $$.

Nothing else new. Busy at work, busy at home, behind in other stuff. Typical. :) Hope y'all are well!

"These tar fumes are making me dizzy!"

They're putting a new roof on our office building. So far it hasn't been too bad. But it smells like the tar fumes just kicked in now!! It's retched!!!!! God knows how we'll get through the day.

Nothing exciting happening today. DH started work today...hurray!! He's also in the process of fixing the main bath. My goodness! What a job!! In the end, he had to get a new system since the old one isn't up to code. And because of the current piping, he had to weld some copper pipe to reach. Only trouble was there's a block of wood he had to drill through and he didn't have the proper bit last night. Hopefully he can get a hold of one tonight and be done with it...at least that part of it. He still has to find the leaks/drips coming from the tub spout and sink. I bet he won't miss this house once we move. :)

E is doing alright...cold and cough again. My sinus isn't 100% either. I'm sure there's still an infection lingering there but I refuse to take another antibiotic. It was dreadful! I'll keep up the sinus rinse and rinocord for now and hopefully something will give. Anyway, gotta cut short. I'M STARVING!! Okay, I'm exaggerating. But I gotta eat.

TTFN!

HE GOT IT!!!

DH got the job, on the spot, starting work tomorrow!!! MediChair is the company. One of the interviewers said he never hired anyone while in the boardroom...thinks that speaks very well of my man! Lazy and useless my ass!! Thanks for all the prayers, well wishes, and good vibes!

Super weekend!!

My goodness what a wonderful weekend. We had so much fun as a family! Now that E's getting older, we're really enjoying active play with her. Friday night, we didn't do a whole lot. We're all tired by the end of the week really. Saturday morning, DH & I went to Spiderman 3 on IMAX with my work. It was great to have Shay & Mark come along. Nice doing something fun with other adults. Movie was alright with some cheezy moments. But the action was cool, I must admit. Afterward, we have lunch at Montana's. The best baked potato I've ever eaten!!! Tender all the way through and yummy toppings to make it extra tasty. Poor Shay got stuck with onion on her meal...which she asked them not to include. At least she got $10 off...but it's for her next visit. Anyway, it was nice to visit with them. Great chat, great company.

Saturday afternoon, we took E to the Wentworth playground for over an hour. She had a ball running and giggling the whole time. We were worn out watching her. :) Then we took her for ice cream at Point Pleasant. No vanilla (she's a plain Jane) so we got her Birthday Cake. It was hilarous!!! She kept saying, "Mmmm...my favourite!" She ate the whole thing!! Cone & all!!! What a cutie! When we got home, I got my bubbly tub ready for E & I to have a bath (DH is still in reno mode of the main bath). Then supper and bed. Saturday night, can you believe I was in bed by 8:30?? No joke. I didn't fall asleep till around 9 or quarter after. I woke up at midnight to an empty bed. Got up and found Jeff and dragged him back to bed. Slept in till 8, which was really nice. I felt totally rested on Monday and didn't even nap.

Sunday day, DH, E & I went to the Public Gardens for a picnic...last time. We tried to feed the ducks...not allowed. Not allowed to walk on the grass, even to chase you 2 year old off it. It was disappointing. Got E home for a nap and then I went for groceries. Got home, put stuff away, watched E have a bath in her pool outside...so cute. Baked banana bread, had supper, watched some TV and off to bed. Hopefully we'll have more great weekends like that! I'm on pins and needles today for DH. His interview is at 10. All wknd he kept saying the job is his. Today, you could tell he's nervous. I'm leaving it in the Lord's hands. If it's meant to be, it will be. If not, something else is in the works for him. Truly, I hope this is it...he needs this.

UPDATE!!!!!

God I love happy news.

DH got an interview on Monday. It's with the company he wants to work for. If you wouldn't mind, cross your fingers, pray, whatever that this is the one!

Back in Graceland

After a heartfelt, calm explanation of my feelings in an email to DH, he finally apologized. :) Funny how a simple apology can change things. All I wanted was to be validated. Anyway, we're back in good Graces-land. :)

So, guess what project DH is working on today??? The shower insert. Let me explain. In our main bath, we have an insert that covers the walls above the tub (kind of like a bath fitter, in 5 pieces). Well, it's broken and cracked so DH's tearing down and replacing. With that said, we know we'll need to replace the water board. DH is half way through the project and calls in to report. The STUPID people who put it up in the first place DIDN'T USE WATERBOARD!!!!!! So we have rotten, moldy gyproc behind the shower...nice. This does NOT surprise me though. These IDIOTS cut corners everywhere and it's surprising the house is even standing on it's own. Anyway, DH's tearing it all down, going to give it a bleach bath and let it dry before putting up the waterboard. I'm just clinging onto karma. By doing all the good things to make this house better, it's going to come back on this. Just like scratching that guys car...we could walk away and cover up all the mistakes and leave it for someone else. But that's not our style and I won't have it.

So, the wknd's on and besides the shower, there's not a whole lot planned. I've been invited out to a Girls Games night tomorrow night but I'm not sure if I'll go. Plus, I haven't seen Hil & Hayley since before they're Italy trip so I may see them. Plus, I want to relax...been really tired. Fell asleep on the couch again last night. Not to mention spending time with E. I'd like to do something fun and special with her...I miss so much time in the nights when I'm tired. Well, whatever you do, hope you have a super wknd. The weather's supposed to be great!

Saint one day, demon the next...

...well it was good while it lasted. :)

The short version is I came home to a messy house with a real estate agent coming in an hour. Left a list, it didn't get done. I'm still waiting for an apology.

Anyway, the meeting went well but I'm really discouraged today. I figured it would happen, just was in denial a bit. We can't move forward in the process till Jeff's back to work. So, we're at a standstill.

SOOOOO, if anyone hears about any jobs coming up, let me know. Jeff's on the job sites daily. He's out pounding the pavement again today. His spirits are dampened, I can tell. I'm even considering him going out west for work. It would suck royally but what can we do?? We need him back to work asap.

DH the saint!

Yes, he should be sainted...or knighted...whatever, he definitely deserves it.

E has been having troubles at night. She's waking 2 and 3 times, crying, saying she's scared. He gets up with her each time, sometimes getting her out of her crib for milk and crackers. Last night he was up twice. He kindly turns off the monitor as to not disturb my sleep, which I truly appreciate these days. I'm so tired with this pregnancy. I can't remember being this bad with E...probably because now my sleep is disturbed while she's out the womb. :) Anyway, he's been such a trooper. And I'm sure it's not easy on him...not to mention still being out of work. He had one interview that was so promising but no result. He may drop in to see them tomorrow as he's coming in with me in the a.m. to run errands. I'm hoping this is God's way of delaying him so he can work on projects around the house.

I am so pleased with the progress he's made (and really, it's 99% him!!). This wknd, he's taking out the old "bath fitter" (not the brand, and it doesn't cover the tub, just the walls). We'll have to put new water board up since the adhesive will likely bring down the old. Then we're putting a new "fitter" up, doing patchwork and painting. I hope it turns out well. After the main bath, all that's left is painting (living room, kitchen, laundry room, computer room, MIL's room and ours). Oh, and decluttering the house and cleaning the garage. We'll probably get a storage space so it won't look so crowded in the garage. I can't believe we're getting so close to the end!!! Tonight I have an agent coming in for a walk through. We may hire him as well. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I better get back to work. So nice to read all your blogs!! Take care,
~B

What a weekend!!!

In 2 words? Great but busy...guess that's 3.

Friday night, DH & I, Shay & Mark, and high school friend Doug & girlfriend Sarah went to The Rodeo. 10 bucks to see my own frigin' brother!!! I digress. Anyway, we had a great time. And I don't think the guys minded cause the beer was cheap and the eyecandy, plentiful! Ended up that my aunt Linda and cousin Maureen showed up...they got lost in Burnside heading to my place. Good thing b/c on the way home, my van got a flat and they had to drive us home. Anyway, we all had fun at the Rodeo, the band was great and we got home safe in the end.

Saturday, Linda, Mo and I went for lunch and marathon shopping. We drove to Della's work to pick up a table saw Jeff left in his mom's car (long story). Then went to Tom's in Sackville for lunch...yum!!!!! Love Greek food and theirs was awesome! We shopped at Pets Unlimited, then Mic Mac Mall (Stokes, Winners, Payless, etc.). Finally we ended up at Kent where Mo & I filled 2 carts with soil, annuals, bushes, etc., to beautify my front yard. We had a fun but busy/long day. I was spent by the end of the night. Thank goodness I slept well.

Sunday we all went to church, headed home for a delish lunch that Linda & Mo prepared...chicken stirfry. Yummers!! Then a quick nap before Shay, Mark & the kids came over. Mo & I headed out to garden. DH helped Shay & Mark do the laminate in our bedroom. And Linda watched the kiddies. Mo & I finished around 4:30. We came in and I got the bbq going. The kids were so good. They graised all afternoon...3 bags of popcorn, some goldfishies, and some hotdogs. They were cute! Especially Deylin's high pitched screams at Elmo. Oh, and Phaedra was quite the helper in the gardening department. And of course, Makayla was a great source of fun for all the kids, esp. E. Poor Shay & Mark stayed till the job was done...9 p.m.!!! I can't believe what they sacrificed for us!! We really appreciate it guys!

Monday was very, very low key. Linda & Mo left mid morning. DH & I took E to the playground up the road, just for a 1/2 hour. Then home for lunch, naps and more relaxing for the rest of the day. We needed it. Too bad I am STILL tired. It's never ending. Everyday I end up doing errands at lunch. I may give it up to have naps. :) Well hope y'all had a great wknd.

Sleeping mommy!

I realize all my blogs talk about how tired I am. I apologize but it’s par for the course right now. Last night I got home, ate supper, sat on the couch and slowly slid down into a lying position. The last thing I remember was kissing E goodnight and Daddy taking her to bed. I woke up around 9ish, got my stuff packed and went to bed. I did manage to stay awake for Grey’s…really good show. Then I had an emotional meltdown. Just silly fears about being a good mom and worrying about neglecting E when the new baby comes.

DH has been so great. He’s really stepped in to help around the house and take care of E. He talked me down and told me all the things I needed to hear. We are really so lucky. Me, E and little Limey (that’s how big the baby is). He is a super, super father and such a devoted husband. We’re so blessed! Anyway, I’m better today, more rational. I am still tired but feel productive. I’m off to the Allergist soon to see how my sinus infection is coming along…or if it’s gone completely. I’d like to think so but I’ll let her be the judge.

Oh, exciting news, I have my first appt. with my OBGYN on June 13th!! Hopefully DH can come and we can hear little Limey’s heartbeat. My folks will be up then so I may invite them along…not sure thought. Since it’s the first time, I’d like DH to have the glory…but still, this may be mom & dad’s only opportunity. I’ll ask DH and see what he thinks.

This wknd is going to be busy. But I’ll save all the details for Monday/Tuesday. Have a great long wknd!!!

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...

Funny…about every day around this time (12-2) it happens. I could curl up in a ball on the floor and fall right to sleep. I keep suggesting naps at work but no one’s biting. Some days I even break down and sleep in the van but DH has it today. There’s not really a good place to sneak away to here at work. Besides, they like when I actually work.

Shrek the Third was a hoot! DH & I both liked it a lot. Joseph from work, who is a huge movie aficionado, says thumbs down. Yeah, it’s no Oscar but we thought it was fun. My only regret is not going to bed as soon as I got home. Tired again, everyday. I’m afraid to go to sleep earlier than 10 for fear that I’ll be wide awake at 5. But I’m considering going to bed right after Emma tonight at 8. Well, I better get going. Have a good day…despite the rain…that’s lasting till Tuesday, thank you very much!

Home body

I despise being perpetually tired. No matter how much rest I get, I feel worn out. At work I think of all the things I could be helping DH with at home. Then I get home, and packing up for the next day is all I can manage to do. It’s so frustrating. DH is doing awesome on the home front. He installed a track above the Jacuzzi tub and put up curtains. He measured all the rooms for paint. Today he’s starting to clear out the bedroom of excess furniture, and prepping for the laminate.

I am really psyched about gardening this wknd, despite the weather. I watered my hanging baskets last night. I hope they don’t get overloaded with water over the next few days!! This will be my first gardening session ever. I’m just not interested in it. Who knows, maybe I’ll get a taste for it. Regardless, I hope it helps with the sale.

Yesterday I told the daycare we planning on moving. And I called the daycare in Dartmouth and I’m on the list there. We saw a house on MLS that we like too. I’m trying not to get too excited about it. Goodness knows if it will still be on the market by the time we’re actually buying. Not to mention if our house sells in the same timeframe. We’re really getting our ducks in a row thought which is the main thing.

Well I better shove off. Hope your day isn’t too soggy.

What's up?

Not much with me. Went for the 2nd half of my prenatal visit on Monday. Nothing exciting to report other than I'm doing fine. I'm on my last week of antibiotics for the sinus infection...very excited about that!! I see the allergist on Friday. I'm down another 2 pounds on Curves 6 Week Solution. That brings me to 13 pounds, 16 inches and over 9 pounds of body fat lost. I'm very pleased!! I'm even more excited for my birthday. My 6 weeks ends on June 2nd and my b-day is on the 5th. I've been DYING to eat out so we're going to the Redwood Grill for my b-day dinner.

I'm tired a lot these days. Morning sickness is looming...which sucks since I thought it passed. Back to the ginger tea tomorrow. Nothing going on this week. My cousin Maureen and her mom (my aunt) Linda are coming up for the wknd. Mo is going to help me with the gardening to make the house pretty for sale. DH is hoping to do the laminate in the master bedroom this wknd too. After that, we just need to paint, put down trim, minimalize the house and clean the garage. We'll likely look into getting storage too...if it's not too much $$. Whatever it takes to make the house sell-able.

Oh, Friday night DH & I, and Shay & Mark (maybe) are going to The Rodeo in Dartmouth. My brother and the band he plays in are performing. SHAY: if you're reading, ask Amber & Chris if they're interested in going too! And anyone else you can think of. I asked Steve & Rhonda but I don't think they have a sitter that night. Well, guess I better get going. Hope y'all are doing well.

TTFN!

Lonely…

I’m Mrs. Lonely. I have no-bodies…blog to read!

Between facebook and the great weather, looks like blogger is going the way of the dinosaur. Hey, that’s cool by me. I’d prefer connecting with people (online or outside) instead of spouting off unnecessary info about my day/life.

I’m going to take a break from blogging like the rest of ya’s. If you need me, you know where I’m at.

See ya!

Where did everyone go???

Oh right, it's a sunny day. You're out enjoying it...and I'm inside working. At least we have AC.

So, if you've been on facebook today, you might have seen my status update. I LOVE SURPRISES!! And since I know DH doesn't read my blog, I'll spill it for you. :) Back in Feb, we were strapped for cash so DH didn't get much for his b-day. A subscription to The Family Handyman...which I might add, he didn't receive yet. Hmm...better call them about that. Anyway, it was all of $30 and I felt bad that's all he got. Well know we're in a better financial position...funny to say since he's on EI and hasn't received a cheque yet. Annnyway, I digress. DH's been wanting a remote control truck...one that can go over rocks, through puddles, etc. I bought him a yellow RC Hummer and it looks so cool. I can't wait till after work to give it to him! I gift wrapped it and everything.

So, besides my lunchtime shopping trip, my MIL and I went glasses shopping for her last night. She found a really nice rosey pair. She'll have them in a week or so. I shopped around for myself but I'm not due for an appointment/new glasses till the fall. I'm definitely getting new frames. I've wanted to since I got my Colours done last year. I should be wearing something silvery/platinum...not the coppery pair I have now (how embarrassing). :) Speaking of Colours, I should book an appt. soon for MIL. I gave her a gift cert for her b-day in April. Maybe next week some evening.

Oh, and one more aside. For those iced cap lovers, the Chocolate Mint iced cap from Tim's is especially lovely. Not quite on my meal plan but I couldn't resist with this hot weather. Enjoy the sun peeps...but remember to put your 45 on so you can rock on!!

FINALLY!!

With “2” parties on Saturday and a b-day dinner last night, it seemed like E’s b-day lasted for ages!! It came to a close this morning when I asked E what she wanted for breakfast. “Happy Birthday cake,” she replies. That’s when I said her Happy Birthday was all over. She settled for French toast with dip-dip (syrup).

Yesterday just turned into a disaster. Poor DH had a heck of a time fixing the van. Fortunately it did pass safety…hall-le-lu-ia!! Anyway, all the plans got ka-fuddled and to make a long story short, our planned supper didn’t materialize. Thankfully my MIL tacked some leftovers together with bbq DH made and we all ate well. Including me who had to eat something other than the intended meal on my plan.

Before/after dinner, we watched Flushed Away (for the millionth time) with E. It ended late so E went right to bed and I drove the gals home shortly after. Just enough time before bed for me to pack up for today.

DH is on an interview as we speak for a cable guy position. Not sure if he’d even take the job (as it’s the same/less money than he’d get on EI). Still, it’s practice. Who knows? He’s really hoping for a call from one other place so we’re waiting to see where the good Lord guides him. Anyway, I best be off. Just thought I’d check in. Hope y’all have a great day…and enjoy the sunshine!!!

Party girl!

We had a great wknd, but I feel I need another to rest. Thursday night on was busy with the Spring Fling and E’s Party…both which turned out great. E had a lot of fun. She actually knew it was a party for her birthday. So cute. She got lots of lovely gifts and had so much fun with all the kiddies. Her godfather Jason came down from NB so we had a nice visit with him too. Yesterday I picked up cupcakes (stuck together in the form of a flower w/stem) for her daycare class. She saw them this morning and was so excited. We took her to the dr. for her 2 year old check up. She’s in the 75% percentile for height, weight and head circumference. Daddy dropped me off to work and took her back to daycare.

Speaking of Daddy, he brought the van in last week to see if it finally passed inspection. Rejected AGAIN! After he dropped E off he went home and fixed it so hopefully tomorrow we’ll be on the road safely. He’s also working in the crawl space today. We botched up our insulating job last year and thought we had to tear everything down and start over. Fortunately, that’s not the case. He just has to take out the old vapour barrier and put new stuff down. It shouldn’t take him that long. Then we can start prepping for laminate in our bedroom!!! DH doesn’t feel comfortable doing it himself, and I won’t be around to help this wknd. So next wknd, he’s going to ask Mark & Steve if they mind helping.

This wknd I’m going to an all day scrapping event with Shay!! Whoo hoo! I doubt I’ll get organized before then but I’ll try on Friday night. I likely have everything in order, just need to press on. It’s been a while since I’ve looked at everything so I’m not sure. Oh, and I have to get cracking on M-day cards!!! And I still need to get something for my mom. I may do an IOU so we can do something together when she’s up here. They’re coming June 8 till 21 and then E & I are going back with them to CB till Canada Day wknd. Can’t wait!

Well, I better get going. I’m still tired so maybe some fresh air (and fresh Java) might help wake me up. J

HURRAY!!!! It's Friday!

Well I survived last night. I was so tired and going to be by myself to take care of E and then bake. Ugh! But it all worked out. E was such a little doll. We had our little tiffy trying to get her to eat (remember when I said she used to eat good???). She did manage to get lots of toast in and most of her peek-a-boo eggs…love the name. Just eggs in a nest. But they call it peek-a-boo eggs in the Strawberry Shortcake cookbook she wants from the Scholastic Book fair. J Impressionable huh? I may get it for her, since she’s interested, although it’s $15!!! But like DH says, ‘I don’t care how many books you buy her.’ She has such a great interest in reading. I hope she keeps that.

So, DH is done with Elevator Repair. Last night was the last ditch attempt at his union meeting. There were lots of guys who stuck up for him. Even Doc had some great things to say about DH. I felt glad for him so that he can have closure. And we’re really happy that the consensus, of the entire membership, was to return the $1100 dues he paid in February. He’s job hunting like crazy online. I know it really bothers him to be out of work but we have a safety net right now to help us through. I told him to be patient and the right job will present itself. He dropped by one place that looks very promising. Here’s hoping.

So tonight I have to put cool-whip on my pumpkin pies and take them, the spider cookies and yard sale stuff to the daycare for their Spring Fling tomorrow. We’ll be dropping by tomorrow from 9-10 and then back home for E’s party at 11. Hopefully we’ll all have fine weather. I have to tidy the house tonight too. Sweep, mop, dust and straighten up. And I’m hoping that Grey’s is replaying tonight at 9 so I can catch the 2 hour show. Oh, Survivor. Love that Alex is gone!!! Now the show will get good.

Well, I gotta get goin’. Hope y’all have a great wknd!!! I’ll let you in on all the b-day festivities Monday.

Movie Night - Year of the Dog

You didn’t miss much. Well, I must say, it wasn’t my type of movie. I love Molly Shannon, and she did a good job. But the movie was too hard core. Don’t let the previews fool you. It’s not a romantic comedy about a single girl. It’s an animal activist movie, through and through. And with the technical glitches, it was aweful. The first 5 or so minutes looked like the characters were standing in those funny mirrors at the Circus. Then the last 5 minutes, the “Tribute” preview trivia showed up on top of the screen and we all missed the ending. Very, very disappointing. As much as I like MS, I wouldn’t even recommend renting this…unless you’re an animal activist, vegan or want to learn more about both. And sorry, but I love ribs…and chicken…and beef. Meat good.

Quick blurb.

Going with MIL to see Year of the Dog premier tonight. Funny to have 2 nights out in a row!! Shay & I went to see Dirty Dancing for the 20th anniversary but they were sold out. Very disappointing but we did go see Next with Nicolas Cage. We both really liked it but the end was a let down.

Anyway, my laundry room is back in order. DH’s installing the toilet and new sink today…and cleaning up. We’ll have to put a push on for the big party on Saturday. Really, I just need to sweep, mop and dust. Besides that I have to bake pies, cookies and maybe a loaf for E’s daycare. They’re having their Spring Fling on Saturday too. Oh, and I have to make E’s b-day cake too. I’m going to make her a flower. Today I bought the cutest outfit for her birthday. More practical than last year so she can wear it again. Cute with flowers all over it…how fitting. ;) Well, I have to run. Hope you’re having a good one.
