Mother's instinct

I realize I need to trust mine more. Hard lesson to learn.

Just before DH & I left for our big night at the Prince George, we checked E's temperature. She was cranky and off all day. 99 degrees. Not terrible but concerning. We gave her tylenol and decided to go anyway. I should have just called the hotel and asked if there would be any cancellation fee charged. If not, we could have rescheduled...instead of leaving early the next morning to take E to emergency. We suspected an ear infection and that's what we found out after a 3 hour wait and a 2 minute examination. So frustrating.

The room...to die for!!!! The bed was the most comfy thing I ever slept on. We had a delicious continential bkft in the a.m. I felt like crying...litterally...when we had to leave. I was SO looking forward to lazing around, having lunch in the hotel restaurant, and coming back to that comfy bed for an afternoon nap. But hey, that's life right? We're hoping we could try again next year but who knows...with 2 kiddies at home, it may be too tough for MIL. *Sigh* I feel so disappointed...and not at anyone. I certainly don't resent E being sick. Just sad over the situation.

At least Saturday-day was fun. It was so nice to reconnect with Shay and scrap all day. We thought we'd be so ambitious but I think I got 6-8 pages done. :) Seemed like a lot but my stack of 2006 photos proves otherwise. :) It's just a sign that I need to scrap more often...right Shay?? We should set up a regular date. Maybe a Friday night. Let me know your schedule, busy mama! ;)

Well, gotta go. Ultrasound at 10:30 and I have to check a few things.

That is frustrating...and trust me, I know ALL about it! With more hospital stays and visits than I care to remember there has been more than one plan gone awry :) Next year will be better unless it's like mine - 6yrs and two kids late and you get pizza taken home to you ;) Wahoo. LOL

Hope E is feeling better.

how sad, on both. The pg stay and the pizza. Mark and I didn't do anything at all this year, but we are going to .... soon.

I'm so sorry to hear how sucky and disappointing the time ended up being and poor E. Too bad that Iv couldn't have taken her in. Nothing more that you could really do.

When the second one comes, I'm here and I can babysit, and I'd be glad to. Getting away together is nearly the most important thing you can do for your family, so no matter what it takes, you need to get there.

We're going to try the surfside sometime. Cheap rates and sweet quaint rooms and great location!
