Leaky Brain Syndrome
If there's a true ailment by the same name, I apologize. One of my girlfriends (on FB) said it's a syndrome called Motherhood. You ain't kiddin! I think women are blessed with the ability to remember most of the minutia that comes with having a kid. But somedays, forgetting one thing can make me so angry at myself. Why did I forget to drop off the damn bag to daycare...after I returned home to pick it up? Because it was out of my normal routine. I forgot the bag because it wasn't in the "spot" I usually put it in. I made the mistake of hanging it on the coat rack. Then I forgot to stop at the daycare again since the kids weren't in the car. I said before I can totally see how that poor mother forgot her child in the car and found her there dead at the end of the day. So sad, but so true.
I'm not sure if we're the problem or what. We are in charge of the minutia. Or is it we can't handle someone else taking care of it and not doing "as good a job as we could." Maybe this year's resolution is to let some of the minutia go...deligate to others...to free ourselves a bit of the responsibility. So what if you don't like how my hubby folds the towels, or hangs the clothes, or cleans the bathroom. I have to ignore it. Cause at the end of the day, it's just friggin' towels. There are way more important stuff in life. Like how much spare time I have with my girls. Right? Anyway, enough harping on my soap box. BTW, see in the news about the Father who took his 2 toddlers out in 50 below weather in their t-shirts and diapers? He's being sentenced by a sentencing circle from his Reservation. God bless him. Cause I don't know how I could look at him without being violent.
Well, gotta run.
TTFN!

Yes, I call it baby-brain. Once the babies arrived, the brain cells are gone along with the ability to remember anything! Delegation is good, as long as it's to someone who will actually remember ;)
