Top o'the Mornin' to ya!
Saturday's party went off without a hitch. Friday night we tidied up and I made some cute decorations early Saturday morning, with E's help. :) The cooking got underway early and by 10 o'clock, we had our 2 meat dishes (Guinness beef and Whiskey chicken) done! Then I started baking soda bread. The 1st loaf (all white flour) wasn't dense enough for my liking. Made another half & half with whole wheat flour. It was much better. Made 2 of those loaves. Stopped to get E dinner and put her down for a nap...and went down myself. But it was short lived. E woke up crying out of her sleep which woke me up. Got her up and settled and got back at it. MIL helped with the bread pudding. And then played the waiting game before getting the sweet potato fries and bread pudding in the oven.
We all enjoyed the food. I was really impressed with how well everything turned out. Even had leftovers to share with the guys at work. The party was a little ho-hum. Lots of shop/computer talk among the guys. I thought I'd fall asleep. Not the rip roaring party I was hoping for, but still fun. Maybe next year we'll stick to appetizers so it won't cut into our drinking time. :) Sunday was an all around lazy day. Got the laundry done. Watched Nemo with E. Funny how now she watches for the story (not the pretty pictures) . She even got scared at the scary parts. I had to reassure her it would be okay. :) Oh, and the big news. She jumped off MIL's bed!!! I don't let her as a rule, unless someone's holding her hand. She doesn't know the difference. Her chin got rug burn...it looks aweful! Guess that's how she'll learn.
Well, I best be off. I have some yummy whiskey chicken and soda bread for lunch. Mmm!! Hope y'all had a great wknd.

Reading your post is making me hungry!! Everything sounds like it was sooooo yummy! Glad the part went well. Maybe next year I'll make it :)
Everything was soooooooooooo awesome. From Emma, the company, the shooters, the food, the decorations, the invites - all of it. And I LOVE the new layout in the livingroom.
You should post the recipes for us as I'd for sure make them for the gang!
It is hard to go out to Party when someone has to drive, I find that challenge. And with my headache and all the food, I couldn't drink. I still had a load of fun though. Just what I was up for. We can always plan a drinkfest.
What about Fri at French Quarter or Girls Night at Bubbles Mansion on March 30 looked interesting ...
Enjoy the leftovers!
