White Knuckle Driving
The drive home was interesting, to say the least. First off, work allowed us to leave early. But the van was in the shop and I had to wait for my MIL to pick me up. What's normally a 1/2 hour drive took over an hour! She arrived at 5:45. We reached the girls at 6:45. God bless Delisca! She stayed at daycare with the girls till we arrived at 6:45. They ate English muffins, fruit and cheese for supper. :) Anyway, I tried not to panic since I knew they were safe. This morning was tricky. DH had to drive MIL to work, return home and pick us up and drive us to daycare/work. The little lane we live on is a sheet of ice! Hopefully the guy who takes care of it put some sand down.
I got the van back today. It ended up being a minor problem. Only $200...which is still a lot but it could be worse. I still feel a bit leery driving but I'm sure it'll be fine. Just that stalling periodically in the middle of traffic is a bit frightening. The true test will be the drive home. Speaking of traffic, I worked on some bumper sticker ideas for KOOL FM. Lots of fun...lots of laughs...and lots of praise. The program director loved them...as did my boss. Nice to get a little pat on the back. :)
Well, I better run. Getting the gals tonight and doing the mommy thing by myself. DH & MIL going to an appt and getting groceries (yeah, one thing off my list!). Looking forward to the wknd. Going to Steve & Rhonda's Sat night with the kiddies for a pizza/jammie night. And Sat afternoon, I'm FINALLY getting together with Megan. I think the last time we got together was in November! Plus all the usual stuff: choir practice, church, laundry, tidying up, etc. So the warnings are out...watch out for black ice! Drive safe everyone!!!
