Mixed Emotions

Well, it's been an interesting day. My long time co-worker and friend, Myrna, is moving to Toronto and today was her last day. We had our usual celebratory lobby meeting with cake and a "parting gift." And I helped organize (more like suggested the idea of going) a lunch for her which was really nice...it was a surprise. I wrote, actually typed out, some thoughts for her card. I asked her to read in private to avoid the tears. It was hard not to be emotional all day, but I managed to do it...had to since my mascara isn't water proof. :) She's been with me for so many important milestones...running a half marathon, getting married, buying a house, 2 kids. She contributed so much to my life, it's hard to imagine not having her around.

Anyway, enough before I start boo-hoo-ing. This wknd, we're getting together with Doug & Sarah. Very excited! We're going to the Fireside but I got free tickets for a show in town so we'll likely do that instead (once I inform her). The most exciting news is Mom & Dad (Granny & Poppy) coming on Monday!!! They're coming up for the week to visit...so glad to see them since we missed out on Christmas. And we're going down for a week the end of March. We have no concrete plans but one night I'm going to take Mom out for dinner (gc from Christmas) and maybe a movie. Another night DH & I are going to Myrna & Bruce's (so we'll get the grandparents to babysit). And for sure on Friday, E's saying home from daycare, going to the dentist, out for lunch, maybe a movie with DH & I and Granny & Poppy.

Well, I better run. Almost quitin' time. Have a great wknd!
